Warmth gets old fast. This is so boring. Looking for any signs of some change. Making it worse is hardly much collected rain with it.

Meanwhile happy NYE to you all.

Yes, Happy New Year to all here on the forum.
Maybe we can squeeze out a few drops on Monday but as always it looks like an east Texas special.

Nothing but zonal flow and above-normal temps for TX as far as the eye can see. Now that's winter! Heading out for a bike ride in shorts and short-sleeve jersey soon

Wxman57's wall holding strong to mid-January.

Man Siberia/Eastern Russia is getting obscenely cold. Hopefully the PV disruption will help the pattern that may move some of that the second half of the month.

Right now we are still in the firm Aleutian low (Nino-y) pattern with zonal flow. At the same time we do not have the Nino-y STJ with the crazy +SOI. Warm and dry is an easy forecast with extreme +SOI events.

Goodness, this may be the first stage for "The Big One" to come in Late January and into February. The +EPO is launching it's attack on the PV. Before turning negative when when PV get very unstable and unleashes the Cross Polar Flow. This time, the cold is much stronger.

Enjoy it while you can. Last 10-12 days of January and first half of February most likely won’t be your friend. It will actually be Winter and not Spring.

There are signs of possible cross polar flow set up the second half of the month. It's beyond what models can discern well given how far out. But we likely haven't seen the worst of winter yet. Wxman57 getting his reprieve from the cold at the moment.

In other news got my car washed then woke up this morning and already a glaze of pollen :spam:.

Not sure if you have heard of eric webb. He posts alot on twitter. He said mid to end January is our only opportunity at winter weather because he thinks feb is a blowtorch for us because of niña climatology. I would like to get one more shot at winter weather with a -epo, especially if mjo gets in colder phases like forecast.
