Yeah tropical tidbits is incorporating sleet and maybe even freezing rain into that output. If you pull up the 18z run on WB for example it looks much different.

I think at this point DFW folk will definitely take that.

Im probably just roll with 2-5 inches for DFW, temps just look to be too borderline marginal for this event, if we had a little more arctic air, i could very easily see a foot in north texas, moisture isnt a problem, hovering around or above 32 is really the biggest hinderance to some bigger totals

Just thought of this, I have a challenge for you North Texans! Since there is no doubt y’all will have widespread snow across the ground, my challenge is who can make the largest snowball/ snowman! Id love to see who can do it, and post a picture of it here! Thought that would be a fun little idea if anyone is up to it!

In case folks are more interested about the NMB output and what that entails.

You're behind, my friend. It's already trended back the right direction. Almost like a bug got into the system and corrupted all of the model runs at once.

I always look at 200/300mb, 500mb, before looking at surface outputs, lol. Got burned a bit on that one. However, I still think there were some improvements on that run, even though it cut back QPF for portions of DFW.

Thanks for posting this, I was just about to reply asking exactly which models go into the NBM. That said, I’m still confused as to why it went down since it seems that most of these models increased their totals with the 18z cycle. I must be missing something.

Thanks for the WF specific info!

Definitely not looking good for measurable snow for us. We are too far NW this go around.

I’m honestly thinking nobody should assume they are in or out, just wait until the precipitation starts.
