Weather advisory for Lawton for severe thunderstorm and 30 minutes later it's snowing.

...BRIEF MIX OF RAIN, SNOW, AND SOME SLEET EARLY THIS MORNING...

A band of light to briefly moderate precipitation will move across
portions of North Texas early this morning. A mixture of rain,
snow, and even some sleet can be expected with this precipitation.
Any accumulations should be minor, quick, and confined to grassy
surfaces, given marginal surface temperatures. Areas near the Red
River will be the most likely to see any such accumulations.

While significant road impacts from this band are not expected,
slow down if encountering heavier precipitation. Additionally,
wind gusts up to 40 mph may accompany these showers, briefly
reducing visibility.

This band should reach a Breckenridge to Bowie line around 2 am,
DFW to Sherman line around 4 am, and a Paris to Sulphur Springs
line around 6 am.

HRRR is doing a good job with a bit of lead time. Changeover happening (radar) around WF and slightly to the east as the 850s demarcation is racing. Even the NAM now looks interesting for DFW in a few hours.

Looks like folks will wake up to a little bit of snow falling.

Had to take the dog out and so I checked...statement for moderate snow band around 4 mentioning minor accumulation on grass more toward Red River. Finally a good trend last-minute. :)

Well it's looking good for some of you north Texas folk. My real fun will be Saturday night where it's looking like we could get pretty close to blizzard conditions here.

I don't see it happening. It looks like the precipitation is outrunning the cold air to me.

Looking at the radar it’s possible. NOAA website has Bowie airport reporting snow when radar shows rain. I guess we’ll know shortly

I'm up and waiting... Not sure if I should nap and get up around 6-7 or what. The wind is brutal, there are several power outages already around the metro.

Wundermap radar shows snow in Bowie, and 32. DFW airport is 43, Denton is 39. Wonder if the temp will drop in time for the snow.

I think the cold is moving quickly enough to drop temps. Looks like it is sleeting slightly here in Ponder. Says it’s still 39

Some sort of icy mix here in Ponder, temp dropped two degrees, down to 37, wind is howling. My north windows have ice, albeit small amounts, sliding down.

Radar returns look to be increasing in Wise County.
