Flurry action. Tonight
Rain in the evening...then slight chance of light rain...light snow and light sleet after midnight. No snow and sleet accumulation. Lows in the lower 30s. North winds 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 20 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation 90 percent. Thats BR. from wunderground.com

While a surprise is looking less likely for south Louisiana, a few flurries are not out of the question. The surface low in the GOM that was expected to develop must have not panned out. Rather chilly tomorrow night but highs in the 70's due by next week.

Well Brent...looks like you might be in a pretty good spot this time. Radar shows a solid shield of some pretty heavy precip heading your way. Montgomery's reporting snow, so I'm guessing (being you're ENE of there) that you're in for a good time.

Dusting on the ground and still coming down here.

I am having major problems posting pics tonight, not working on FB, Photobucket, or ImageShack, but I am taking plenty.

Looked like a few flurries falling here in Hattiesburg a minute ago. Nothing to even get excited about, though. I just came back in and got in the bed. Oh well. Maybe next winter will be nicer to us! I'd rather it be 70 degrees the whole winter than have chance of snow after chance just fall through and get our hopes up! Time for hurricane season!

Make that 1/4th of an inch on the ground, officially my biggest snow since last February 12th here. I am having no luck uploading pics yet but have taken a bunch.

Nice pictures Brent! It looks like the road is covered too.

This event was a bust for nearly all of TX. At least the cold air is not getting wasted for you guys.

Still not over here, I measured a couple spots approaching 2 inches in the grass. Thrilled with this event, it couldn't have gone much better IMO

Thanks for the pics, Brent!

We got about 1.5 to 2 inches of snow in Madison, 3 inches in Decatur. Roads are dangerously slick, as the temps were slightly above freezing when it started to snow; snow melted on the roads, then temps quickly dropped. People have gotten complacent or just didn't realize the roads are so bad, so lots of folks are trying to drive-there's hundreds of wrecks and, sliding off the road or in the ditch, etc. Many roads are closed, but folks are still getting out and into trouble.

Schools are closed, many businesses are closed; people are saying this is the worst the roads have been in years.

21F, cloudy with light snow, winds 12mph. :cold:

Thanks for the photos Brent because that is probably how close I am going to get to snow living on the coast unless I drive to the snow. Love the picture of the kitten in the snow. My crazy cat would never go out in the snow. I have a hard time just getting her to go outside when it is 50 degrees. LOL

Thanks Brent for providing ssome very good pictures of the snow in North Alabama late last night / early Thursday morning. 8-)

Looks like you got about a couple of inches on the ground, which is a pretty good event. I am glad you got in on this event as this looks to be the last winter storm to barrel through the Deep South this amazing season.

That is provided Mother Nature doesn't have anything else coming to pull a surprise in late February or March.

Brent,

I'm so glad you had such a nice snow. We were not so lucky here in Demopolis, but maybe some other time!

Your pictures are so good.
