Let's not count our chickens yet.

It'a still marginal enough that a predominately cold rain event remains on the table as a possibility here as well.

Oh yeah, but I would take our odds over theirs. That gulf low is pesky for them. It's often a problem for that region even with elevation and some latitude, the city often falls short on 4+ snows. Got family there.

It's been 7 years since they've had an inch of snow apparently :double:

Yeah... We talk about it being rough here

Temps are running way under hi res models though strangely globals are not horrible on current temps. Precip is also way ahead of schedule out west.

I know their history well. The northern burbs are OK but the city hasn't seen 4+ since super storm of '93 for any one event and even that was 4.2". QPF is never the issue there, it's the warm air the gulf lows draws up with it once they go inland.

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Some decent returns moving into the Abilene area soon. Not sure if any of that is going to reach the ground.

Lot of yellow in those returns. Sleet? Convection?

Snow in Texas, 8th wonder of the World

Don't use my posts as forecast; I'm not a licensed meteorologist! I just endorse cold weather, alright?

All observations I note are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Lol the nam has the biggest snowstorm I've seen in Tulsa

That's an interesting twist. I don't buy it for a second but ok

The only thing I have sort of noticed is the heavier band in Arkansas isn't as far away as it was

It might take a while to moisten the Texas atmosphere unfortunately

Strong storm overall. Look at elevated convection forming east of South Padre Island. I wanna watch for potential development in South Texas as well to try to understand what the coastal low is doing.
