Bizarre that all hi res models are initializing around 4 degrees warm right now. Most models have freeze line along I20 when it is actually south of Lufkin. 26 here in Lindale along I20 now. Some stations as low as 23 around East Texas.

At this point I don't think temperatures are a problem, it looks like everything is going well North into Oklahoma

Well I thought temps were a lock when I went to bed last night - it was 28.4. Then it was 32.2 at midnight, and sitting at 35.6 right now. Hopefully there's a ton of wetbulb cooling involved once the precip shield moves in, which already looks like it may miss me to the north based on the radar.

Exciting day ahead!

DPs are in the low 20s so should still be able to wet bulb to 32 or below in many places.

My dewpoint is 27.9F, confirmed on my weather station.

It’s snowing at my place but very light. 34.5 77% humidity dew at 28 so my room for dropping is shrinking.

As expected temps have risen to at or above freezing in man y areas though with DPs in the low 20s we have plenty of room for wet bulbing back to freezing. The warm nose aloft for DFW should wet bulb to freezing +/- 1C also for I20 in N and E TX a bit warmer as you get towards LA. Difference is DFW loses its warm nose during the evening and E TX warm nose lowers and becomes stronger during the evening. For E XT the transition to all snow will be after midnight.
FYI, there is some lightning with convection out west. Don't be surprised if precip becomes all sleet or even all snow under the heaviest bands even during the day today.

Sticking with my 3-6 inch call for DFW, with higher totals north of there. It may be until this evening for all snow to arrive there though.

Light sleet already. Heard the pingers on the window and the metal vent on the chimney.

My 7yo woke up just and is crying because there is no snow.

I told both kids last night we will get snow tomorrow, but in his mind I guess that meant first thing. He's OK now. Fell back asleep.

I'm sure all their friends talked it up at school too.

Let's see how quickly you evaporatively cool and where it settles at. Wet bulb for you right at 32F it looks like, may take higher precip rates to do it though.

Interestingly for us E of DFW wet bulbs are more like 30F currently due to things cooling so much overnight.

Quicker the better. It was light and has stopped for the time being. It's a 24 hour event so plenty of time.

Here we may manage to start things as a snow/sleet mix before more rain mixes in towards lunch time.

Light snow/sleet mix currently at 33° in Sunset (northwest of Decatur). Radar returns look solid but very light precipitation at the moment. Hoping it picks up throughout the day.

Low levels still have some work to do to saturate. As it does temps will cool.

A pretty good mixed bag coming down here in Ponder at the moment. My flower bed is taking a light icing, it's 35 on my thermometer.
