Sleeting pretty good in North Fort Worth. Starting to stick on the grass.

Re: Texas Winter 2024-2025
I can tell you there has been a lot more moisture out here than predicted. I have standing water in large puddles and sleet laying on the ground. We have numerous big Eastern red cedars that are sagging from the ice on them and all the others trees are covered in ice. Have another big heavy area of precip coming in from the Southwest soon.

Huge flakes coming down here in northern wise county. Everything is completely covered with about a half an inch of snow. I’ll take a few hours of this! Not sure how to post a photo, or I would.

Might be hearing some thunder up there too. Wish I was at my Dad’s place in Allen right now. I’m stuck with a cold rain.

Yeah, I did my run last night. These last few mornings have been very refreshing however for runs, with the right gear it's not bad.
The only running I do is from my car to the house when it's cold. I used to do some biathlons (30k bike, 5k run, 30k bike) in the late 1980s. I usually trained for running in mid afternoon in the summer. I've never liked running with the temperature below 80F. Give me mid-July any day over today's 40F and rain.
Looks like NBM is going with about 1.5" snow across the D-FW area today. Freezing rain and sleet at the start this morning. So much for the 6-12" models were predicting last week. Don't drive anywhere today unless it's an emergency.

Not according to the FW NWS office, they continue to bump up totals with the potential for what some of the models were predicating last week. Here's the update earlier from Dunn:
Bumped up snowfall totals a little farther south and west to 2
to 5 inches generally along and north of I-20. There is still
potential for some banded or convective snowfall which could
result in isolated totals of 8 to 10 inches. This is most likely
to occur anywhere from the northern parts of the Metroplex to
the Red River over toward Paris.

Starting to get snowflakes in NRH now. That extra degree or two of colder air would have really made a difference.

Seems like we’re getting the full mix here now in Dallas. Mostly sleet and rain with a few flakes mixing in.

Dead silent down here. Would’ve liked to get some rain but it’s all up north

Snow in Texas, 8th wonder of the World
Don't use my posts as forecast; I'm not a licensed meteorologist! I just endorse cold weather, alright?
All observations I note are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Now that I have some daylight, everything is coated in ice here barbwire fence trees with heavy coat an now big fat snow flakes starting as bright yellow an red returns on the radar are about 10 miles south of me so should get a nice burst of snow if it keeps coming.

Just went out with the dogs and it’s mostly graupel which is accumulating on cars and in the grass.

Re: Texas Winter 2024-2025
The ground is almost completely covered here, looks like we already have a half inch of accumulation.

Re: Texas Winter 2024-2025
Looks like it's rain/sleet mix at the onset. Heavier returns switching to sleet/snow. NW zones are getting mostly snow.
