Re: Texas Winter 2024-2025
Currently 44F with light rain in southwest Houston. Perhaps I'll go out for a long bike ride when the rain gets heavier...

It's been predominately sleet here in SW Plano so far, and it is accumulating.

That high qpf band is moving through North Dallas county and probably southern Collin county.
DFW airport is getting a quick burst. It's mostly covered the roofs as it passed through the mid-cities.

Yeah, I did my run last night. These last few mornings have been very refreshing however for runs, with the right gear it's not bad.
The only running I do is from my car to the house when it's cold. I used to do some biathlons (30k bike, 5k run, 30k bike) in the late 1980s. I usually trained for running in mid afternoon in the summer. I've never liked running with the temperature below 80F. Give me mid-July any day over today's 40F and rain.
Looks like NBM is going with about 1.5" snow across the D-FW area today. Freezing rain and sleet at the start this morning. So much for the 6-12" models were predicting last week. Don't drive anywhere today unless it's an emergency.
Not according to the FW NWS office, they continue to bump up totals with the potential for what some of the models were predicating last week. Here's the update earlier from Dunn:Bumped up snowfall totals a little farther south and west to 2
to 5 inches generally along and north of I-20. There is still
potential for some banded or convective snowfall which could
result in isolated totals of 8 to 10 inches. This is most likely
to occur anywhere from the northern parts of the Metroplex to
the Red River over toward Paris.
Knew that would happen.

Yep, the NBM model is usually always chasing totals/late to the game. Major flaws as it overweights some poorer performing models
