We are saying straight from what we see in the model. He's stating what he believes the trends will do as the models continue to vary on timing and strength.

b/c quite to the point if this takes a further southern track like the nam is starting to latch onto then
it will funnel the cold air in much quicker it could bring the front in much earlyer say even 6 hours
earlyer then currently forecast.. by late in the peroid where the nam is putting out the heavy amts
iam VERY confident that the upper levels will be cold enough by then for snow... still somewhat up
in the air for dfw but i could see a good 4-6 inches on the northern, western sides of dfw and that
is subject to be revised though at anytime pending the track of the system.

i would also urge ANYONE IN DALLAS-FORTWORTH to stay tuned very very closely this is subject to drastically change as you see those high amts to the north a shift of another 50 ,75 or even 100 miles could make a HUGE diffrence in who sees what

What does this southerly track mean for the Childress and Amarillo areas? More or less snow?

Either way, those areas should still be experiencing a significant winter storm. Only difference might be that lubbock gets the foot of snow instead of amarillo's 10 inches lol.

People of the Texas winter wx thread (2009-2010) thread, what Msstateguy, Me and Ntxw are predicting are actually more accurate than maybe mainstream is publicly forecasting at this time.

This storm is going to be a very agressive and depending on alot of factors this could possibly play out as a MAJOR MAJOR WINTER STORM. Focusing along the Red River North ward and slightly westward could see a foot or 2 of snow and ice. DFW ecspacialy Fort Worth and western sides could also see a quicker transition and lower surface temps working with moderate to heavy precip could result in 1-3 inch or more snowfall totals with highs friday in the lower 30's.

Well less bet is on our predictions on here so it's understandable that the pro's have to be more conservative and rightfully so since they can't change simply from run to run. By no means are we predicting for a major population center of 6m + people

If anything whether it plays out or not, it's fun looking at the chances. We can all wishcast every now and then can't we? =P I learn a heck of a lot about weather and how things work discussing and reading from people on here. :D

You guys are doing a good job of posting your thoughts on later this week. I know a lot of people appreciate hearing and reading it. Keep up the good work.

From what I'm reading, us eastplexers(I'm TM'ing this word) will get the proverbial rock. But I'd rather have that than ice.

anyone who is up in the okc area i would urge you to watch the local media up there @ 10 pm see if there
is anymore urgency yet to this with what the nam is currently showing. they likely wont come out and say yet
but i would expect even stronger wording on a major winter storm,exc,exc...

Also note the GFS has a central Texas to southern gulf coast track.
