So what's going on? Are we waiting on model runs? Just found the board to be rather quiet seeing as how many people are online.

0z runs is about to begin for the NAM. The southern system looks to be fully integrated with the US sample network. High pressure is on the move in Canada, so tonight would be a good time to start tightening up forecasts regarding Tuesday!

Well nothing but cold rain here, so I'm quiet. :P

But I have a question. Since we're gonna get rain, and below freezing by evening, could the roads possibly ice over? 23 for overnight low seems like it can freeze the roads really good, but I don't know how that works. :P

Haven't had a chance to look, but does Texarkana have anything to be concerned about this week?

Most of it should be to your north and west as of now. Unless the precip is a little slower and/or cold a little faster, nothing of concern yet.

Texarkana from Shreveport NWS.

Tuesday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Temperature falling to around 38 by 5pm. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west between 20 and 25 mph. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

If there is enough puddling on the roadways or bridges it is a definite possibility. We are even expecting that as a slight possibility in the Northern Metro areas of Houston.

I see 18z looking like the ECMWF later this week for SE TX with 534 thickness and precip.

Man if you are in OKC/TUL/SPS I would seriously be worried.

Through 36hrs now on the NAM. Looks to continue to be a little slower with the system to me. Comparing it to previous runs. It's kind of like telling the Baldwin brothers apart though. They're all the same.

NAM is giving areas from the Falls to just east of it 6+. Ardmore, OK is 12+ while our NW counties 3+ so far. Everyone else is a coating to an inch probably ontop of some sleet/zr.

By 42 hours it sure looks like Tulsa could get the whole ball of wax. Frz Rain to start, followed by heavy sleet and snow.

I think I spoke too soon last week when I said the pattern would change to where the eastplexers get rigged and the NW is eyed on lol. Jinxed? Still a very close call. A jog 50+ miles this way or that way would make a huge difference and mesoscaling. Look at the tight gradient of that snow map.

About what chance is there that things play out the way the nam shows? Is 40% asking for too much?

I'm liking the trends. If this thing can move 150-250 miles East, I'd be very pleased. Come on Snow! :cold:

Christmas eve 2009 would be a nearly identical analog, only more cold air and the storm maybe is a bit less wound up.

Is anyone else having problems with the FT Worth NWS site? I can't get Denton forecast to load up.
