Yeah I've been a bit skeptical of the models extreme totals but they might happen at this point

HRRR still can’t keep up. 02z run doesn’t have Denton reaching freezing until 1am, but it reached freezing about 30 minutes ago

His bias is warm based on trends i see.

Need the rain so this is a bonus but of course anything that remains into tomorrow will freeze only making things worse in particular across the HC where temps will drop to freezing sooner.

32 line is here. Most models were well after midnight and even as late as daybreak.

Nice that’s where my best friend lives. I told him earlier they would get record snow he said “I highly doubt that” haha.

I’m 30 minutes north west of Denton on border of Denton & Grayson county and my weather Channel app says I’m at 33 in Tioga.

Haha it's so weird to be home for this and not have to worry about anything. It even fell perfectly on my days off
I mean part of me wants the historical totals for sure. The other part is I'm not worried about it not happening I guess. Whatever happens happens
But I'm honestly feeling like this is gonna be big. Probably gonna shock some people. I've pretty much had a feeling all week. Couldnt get away from what the models were printing out consistently

Hmm, Wunderground shows Tioga at 31 with light freezing rain. Must be multiple stations in the area.

Yea going by Weather Channel app. Just went outside and it’s a light rain. Felt metal chairs but there’s no glaze or icing.

Due to the speed of the front and freezing temperatures outpacing model guidance, NWS Austin/San Antonio just sped up the start times of the Winter Storm Warning by three hours.
Looks like the WRF-ARW is winning the meso model war.

Look, if we are going straight to snow (I don’t know what’s falling IMBY but it ain’t snow) then it can only mean one thing since we were expecting thundersleet: thundersnow.

A lot of folks on this board that I respect tout that model. I’m going to hug it from now on.
