Nothing up here in Mukilteo...there are monster buildups to the west and east, but nothing overhead. Temperature has cooled drastically the past two hours...now down to 44F.

I'm pretty stoaked about this weekend's system...looks like a decent shot of rain and breezy conditions. And then the pattern begins to shift...but nothing drastic.

How will the mountains do this weekend? Anyone have any ideas?

I thought Woodinville was right under or very near the Orange colored cell shown on the latest radar return:

I had a high of 61 with a low of 36. Looks like a pretty nice Thunder Storm cell in the Central cascades...maybe near Snoqulamie Pass, that has cloud top heights of 20 to 25,000ft! So probably some small hail with this cell. -- Andy

It is for me, I'm not sure why it isn't for you. Anyways, here is the link to the radar image I was talking about:

No... that is just north of North Bend.

That is about 25 miles to the east - southeast of Woodinville.

I can see the dark clouds from that storm just to our north.

Justin...I see your radar pic. That storm cell is more out toward the cascades.

The build-ups today were the result of sunshine. That is a summer-type event typically.

We are sandwiched between two cells here in North Bend. Very strong gust of wind just a few minutes ago was probably a downdraft from the thunderstorm to our north spreading out along the ground.

We are under the big towering cumulus clouds I saw driving home on I-90.

Although it felt like April... the sky looked like July this afternoon.

Just some advice...never rely on Kiro 7's radar...you can't depict anything from that crap. Although it looks like one location is under a shower cell, it's just ground clutter. Use King 5's radar...that's the best.

We had a gust of wind roll through about 15 minutes ago...it cooled the temperature even more and knocked a few small branches to the ground...but the gust did not exceed 25 mph. I'm not impressed with the weather today...I was expecting alot more. The trough seems like it split...an upper level low formed off the northern CA coast and moved inland...and then a surface low curved to the north off the Vancouver Island coast. TYPICAL of this entire winter season. lol.

Yep... it was pretty dull.

Except for one shower over Covington that dropped .39 of an inch... there was very little rain around Western Washington.

Cells have totally weakened with the sun setting now. Nothing more than a few clouds out here and calm winds once again.

Actually a very pleasant day. Lots of sunshine and temperatures on the Eastside around 60 degrees!!

Kind of tough to see, but that object in the center of the pic just off the water is a Bald Eagle.............

We never did get any showers today, the wind really picked up as these cells moved around us here, but that was it.

The weekend system continues to look VERY promising.

It will go NORTH of us instead of SOUTH like everything other storm. This is MUCH more favorable for heavy rain and mountain snow.

Many places could easily see 1-2 inches of rain. The exception this time will be near R-Dub (and maybe Anthony) in the rain-shadow of the Olympics... similar to the big system a couple weeks ago.

Well I will be heading over to Moses Lake Friday afternoon and will be there until next Wednesday, so I will miss the action this weekend. Like TT says though, my area will most likely be shadowed anyway. The forecast for Moses Lake is for Mostly cloudy skies with a 20-40% chance of rain. Highs in the 50's to low 60's.
They do have a chance of rain or snow for Sunday night. Its the normal large temp swings that those places east of the cascades usually see this time of the year. Could get a little snow at night, then warm up to the 60's in the afternoons!

Hi Randy, and everyone. Looking the infered satellite loop this hour, it appears that the last of the convective cloud band has moved through and just about all gone and fizzled out. Even though I had no T-Storms today, I really enjoyed seeing the convective cumulus congestus and cumulonimbus clouds late this afternoon. To my visual observations, the cumulus congestus clouds were probably reaching heights of around 25,000ft, while a few of the cumulonimbus clouds were reaching up to 35,000 or so. So with that said, here are some pics I shot today here in Woodinville that shows the clouds I have just mentioned about.

With these types of systems, Mukilteo usually gets a good dose of rain with the warm front...with a southwesterly component...but we get shadowed with the main cold front. But to make up for that, we usually have gusty winds in the shadow...gusts usually exceed 35 mph depending on the strength of the cold front.

Oddly enough, with the last system we had NO rainshadow the entire event...we picked up 1.25 inches of rain...R-Dub barely got anything.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. I just hope the mountains can pick up another 2 feet of snow...this could be it until late October.

Goodnite to all!

Latest GFS tonight still showing a rather wet weekend with a cool and very showery trough that will give us cool temps and unsetteled weather. May even have heavy and squally rains. After about Monday...nicer and more milder conditions return and lasts through roughly the 25th, as a ridge of high pressure will be mainly in control.

Nice PSCZ forming tonight just south of R-Dub and just north of Anthony.

Too bad R-Dub is probably missing the fun!!
