interesting thing about this current front is that it ended up a little colder than many of the models indicated. Too bad we couldn't get a persistent precip trigger to go along with it or things might have gotten real interesting. But in terms of dramatic temp drops in my neck of the woods, this fropa is one of the best this miserable season.

Yeah that 6z GFS wants Icemaggedon 2 to occur, if there was a winter storm I didn't want, it would be that one. A few things that intrigue me about this one is that, were are already within 7 days, This isn't the first time it's shown up, I don't know if you guys remember but I mentioned seeing this while we were focusing on this past fail of event, and one thing I have noticed is that lately each winter storm has dropped further and further south. First the one in Minnesota, then the one in Southern Illinois and Northern Missouri, the latest one being in Southern Missouri, Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. So perhaps we're next? if not us then Louisiana? Nonetheless I still won't trust the models for what will happen this weekend until Friday, but hopefully we will get to see some exciting runs that will get this place rejuvenated.

Good deal for you Metroplexers! Any snow flurry in Texas is worthwhile, IMO.

Light sleet being reported in western and northwestern parts of the Hill Country.

NASA released a report last Thursday on carbon emissions and what could lead to "megadroughts"

Uh, we've had a megadrought in Texas since 2000.

Ah, yeah. I think I got a little too excited. It's over now. Snowman building plans have ended.

No doubt the Euro is colder for next Tuesday. Plus the GFS' progged 500mb flow for next Tuesday remains favorable for delivering air into Texas from Alaska and the NW Territories. Sheesh, a few crappy GFS surface depictions and everyone wants to jump off the ledge. Relax! It's going to get much colder next week.

Well, I was right at least once this winter season.

Dang, we are getting a legit snow shower now. Medium-sized flakes falling down right now.

Pretty good amount of ice this morning along with some light snow showers last night. It was nice seeing some winter weather finally, but would have been nicer being all snow.

Haha, it certainly has seemed that way this winter. The snow shower only lasted a few minutes, but it was nice to look at while it lasted. It was pretty similar to the "event" we had back in November.

Still seeing a flake or two every now and then. Was hoping that band of precip near Brownwood would skirt southern Dallas County where me and Iorange55 live, but it looks like it will miss us.

Are you joking or if not why do you think so? I haven't looked at anything about the probabilities in your area.
