Man, The Houston Area, especially North Houston into Montgomery County looks like ground zero for a big time storm.

Just walked outside here at the office in Tyler and it is sleeting. Only 39 degrees but thought I'd post for those in East Texas who are interested.

I do not see anything from my office window downtown, but there is a band of precip on radar so it does not surprise me to here of something reaching the ground. Maybe we can get enough moisture to ease up to I-20 for some surprise snow here, it will sure be cold enough.

A tweet from Ryan Maue. I am a computer dummy so I don't know how to post the actual map.

Yes it still looks like we might get a big part of this! Hoping for more snow than ice though.

The Euro has northern areas of SE Tx with 1-3 inches of "stuff" does indeed look like that area will be ground zero as both GFS and Euro seems to collide best moisture with cold

The latest Ecmwf has some snow falling with the next arctic front early next week

I gave up that kind of forecasting years ago when it comes to winter weather in Central Texas.

What are the chances for freezing rain tonight in Houston? When I type "tonight" I mean, 6 pm range?

I work at the apex of White Oak and Buffalo Bayous and where I park I have to cross fairly big bridges just to get off campus!! If it starts freezing rain tonight, I'm afraid they won't have had time to prep the downtown streets/bridges.

He is currently on the run, no warm meteograms today. We've blown him out of town with our mischief.

Look out Corsicana. I'm gonna assume then that that is a slightly convectively enhanced sleet band heading in.

Yep, there's a band of light to moderate precip heading north/northeast. Everyone north of I-20 is in the 20s and if that band survives it may give Dallas county and points east some flurry action.
