Will the 00z NAM tonight go out far enough to show the possible South Texas snow on Thursday night?

Lol why do they have fort worth and dallas under a warning if they think we'll get a trace to an inch of snow and sleet?

NAM probably won't have that much precip with it...what we need is a stronger low, and warm air advection aloft...so look at the winds at 850 mb.

Wow really! Is that all they are expecting! Well obviously that won't be much of an event for most of us DFW's. As the pro and am-mets on this board trend in one direction, the NWS trends in the other!

Hm I see, They didn't really specify that in their briefing. I think they did put that in the text warning portion, though. I hope our winter weather comes from mostly snow! I'll be antsy tonight.

Between 3-5am for the Metroplex. Don't bet a bunch of money on it though. The freezing temps were never supposed to come before midnight.

Why do you think the NAM won't have much precip with it? And could I also look for a stronger low in the 500mb vorticity?

0Z NAM, but at this point, we're getting close to transitioning from model watching to enjoying the event, however major or insignificant that may be.

Someone posted this earlier today; very helpful: http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/zoa/mwmap2.php?map=zfw.

I'm waiting on the NAM. Really though it's all about watching everything unfold which won't happen till after midnight. I'm planning an all nighter because if I fall asleep there is no way I'm waking up at 5.
