Here is today's snow depth chart. No snow in the southern half of Minnesota in mid February? Wow! Check out the lower image from February of 2011.

I will say one thing... the winter was front-loaded like a lot of people said, or at least some semblance of winter.

Still a few days later it would be 80...

Yeah, I have to chime in here and say Heat Miser is getting a little carried away with these posts.

We're not talking smack so he shouldn't be saying "Scoreboard."

Hey! I only posted the facts sans commentary. There was nothing in my post about how I'm enjoying the record February warmth, or the fact that we've tied the record for the most 80+ days in winter (so far), or that this has been the winter of my dreams, or anything like that. Simply an observation about today's snow cover vs. 2011.

Yeah yeah sure. It is just the way you are doing it. Like the UCONN women's team. You know you are going to win before you get on the court. It is the smirk of "Ha, it is 60 now, but in two days, return onshore winds, bam 80". LOL.

Shall we cancel winter next year as well??? Seems like the trend is not a winter lovers friend.

Maybe lowering our expectations will help?

Both DFW and Waco are on pace to see their record warmest February. Average monthly temperatures have been about 10 degrees above normal at both locations so far this month with only one week remaining. The forecast calls for a few more above normal days through late February so there is a good chance that 2017 will become the new record.

Look, it's bad enough that you troll us Texans all winter long. We're used to such taunting. But when you drag Minnesota folks into this - in mid-February - well now... :D

I'll be honest there's moments when I truly believe all we'll ever set anymore is heat records... I know, I know, we hit 14 degrees this winter but we've had so many 70s and 80s it barely registers(and won't when you look at the average)

When looked at in totality this and last winter together is possibly the warmest back to back by the numbers. 1997-98 and 1998-1999 may be close I'll have to look back but no doubt it is nearly historic on average.

if DFW doesn't have another freeze we will blow away the earliest freeze on record by a full FOUR weeks set February 5 2000 and fall 3 short on fewest freezes in a season if I'm counting right(11, the record is 14 from 2011-2012 and 1999-2000). Last winter had 17...

I wish we could just move to the spring thread now.

If yall think its bad here... Atlanta is on track for their 13th consecutive month above normal... :double: The record was 12 from the 1800's

Houston area man sought in ride by shooting

Houston (AP) - Houston Police and the Texas Rangers have a massive manhunt underway, searching for a man suspected in the ride by shooting of the 2016-2017 Winter season. In today's press conference, Houston Police captain Nathan T. W. Xavier noted that the suspect "was particularly merciless in the execution style shooting". The suspect is described as a "nerd on a bicycle" and was last seen near Sugarland on a bicycle wearing nothing but a pink speedo thong and fluffy bunny slippers.

A witness to the violent murder of Winter, Portis Storm, said that "that guy, wow, I have never seen anything like it. That guy is a real fruitcake, a sadistic, twisted mix of Charles Manson, Jim Cantore and Cyndi Lauper. As he was fleeing the scene, he was humming some song, something about being the heat miser".

Crimestoppers spokesman Brent Gonnagetchu said that the organization "will offer an unprecedented reward for tips leading to the capture and conviction of the assailant, a boys or girls Happy Meal from McDonald's".

DFW Has been above normal since May of 2016 which is 10 months. Go before that, you'd have to go back to May of 2015 for the next below normal. That's one below normal month in almost two years. The last truly "Cold" month was Feb and March of 2015 during the snow periods. The Super El Nino has pumped a tremendous amount of heat across the globe.

Those loud bugs are back!

Well it was a fun few weeks while they were gone..

Just another amazing fact about the warmth:

Chicago has set record highs the last FOUR days! Prior to this week, it had hit 70 in Feb just 3 times dating all the way back to 1871. This week, it has already done it twice with a third coming tomorrow.

What's this? A Day 3 enhanced risk to my Northwest in February? If CAPE is being underestimated we might have issues here.
