It may be overdoing it with some mesoscaling but heck, 18-20 somewhere between OKC and Tulsa is probably likely.

Final call for me on this storm.

3-6 Metro area closer to 3 SE and 6 NW (nearing a ft in Montague and Jack counties). Probably 1/2 to an inch of sleet before that. Snow will probably fall from Hillsboro over to Canton line north and west. 1 mile to half mile visibility during the snow is not out of the question.

Numbers could be more if you go under one of the thunderstorms that ride up into the cold air (thundersnow maybe).

I don't like the way the radar looks with the precip moving like that. Will precip be a problem? I'm not too worried about the cold, I'm more worried about getting some bulk precip.

Precip will not be a problem. Watch a water vapor loop. Frontogenesis is in full swing.

You can see the transition happening, that's the fastest I've seen for a large area in a long long time.

For the Metroplex area 3-5 inches of snow.

West and North Western counties 6-9 inches of snow and in the extreme western counties perhaps over 10 inches.

and 1-2 inches just east of Dallas county.

The 00z NAM shows the south part of the storm giving more snow to the East. If only the northern part near OK/TX border did that, I might get some snow. Hopefully the next few models will give me a last minute boost.

Being one of those just east of Dallas county, I'm cool with this. Enough for the kids to build a snowman and do some sledding at the Middle School.

BTW, it's not showing up on radar but it's drizzling out here in Rockwall.

Is it possible that these thunderstorms to the west of Dallas could also help cool down the temps a little even before the front arrives?
