Wow so it's looking like a huge sleet storm. That's a lot of sleet. This one could be more nasty if it's mainly icy around here.

I'll still find ways to have fun, though.

Don't believe it! Even so we can go sleet sledding! Who needs wimpy snow.

Well what I don't get is on Twisterdata I see us covered in snow and I see what he posted, so why is that picture he is showing have us under nothing? Is that the possible sleet totals you are reffering to?

Maybe so. If so that's a good amount of sleet. I guess we'll see when it starts to fall huh? lol.

From FW NWS

GIVEN THE LATEST DATA...WILL LEAVE THE WARNINGS IN EFFECT AS
IS...BUT CHANGE THE PREDOMINANT PRECIPITATION TYPE TO SLEET AND
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS FOR MUCH OF THE AREA. WILL HAVE THE PURE
SNOW CONFINED TO THE NORTHWEST COUNTIES AND RED RIVER COUNTIES
THROUGH MORNING. LATER IN THE DAY ON TUESDAY...WE COULD SEE ALL
SNOW OVER MUCH OF NORTH TEXAS...BUT PRECIP SHOULD BE WINDING DOWN.
IN ADDITION...WILL BUMP UP ACCUMULATIONS IN THE METROPLEX TO 2 TO
3 INCHES...MAINLY SLEET ACCUMULATION.

Here comes the sleet?

Is there any chance at frozen precip accumulating for me? I hate it when folks ask this question but from reading the past few pages, i cant help but be that guy. I'm teetering on the line but i just dont know how the profile will look when the freezing temps get to Waco. Its my last week of work and a bad weather day would REALLY make my week. ANY info would be super. Not gonna be able to sleep either.

It'll be realllllly close lol. Just as the freeze line gets to you, you might get dry slotted.

And HRRR is suggesting intense sleet, so I'm guessing this could be a monster sleet storm here. Hope I'm wrong and it's all snow.

I could have gone all night without seeing that graphic. I mean all of the pro mets here, local TV guys and our NWS say it's going to happen, and then one run comes out as the storm is on our doorstep and says NOPE!!! Funny, as soon as schools start closing things change which just means next time we will all get stuck in a horrific storm and there will be many problems even if it is forecasted like this one. Don't count your chickens till they hatch. I am thinking of doing this the old fashioned way. Go to bed, wake up at 6:15 and see how things look out the window!!!!!

Could be like 2003 but with more sleet. It was below freezing for a day or two after that storm. So this might be 2003 sleet storm upgraded.

Don't panic Hockey lol. You will get winter weather, just trying to figure out if it's mostly sleet or snow or both...on top of that the NAM has been wacky and crazy so, it's no big.

Well it doesn't really matter if it's 4 inches of sleet or snow. Either way schools are closing.

What can you do with Sleet? Can you build a sleet man? Is it hard to drive on? I can't remember the last time I was in a bad sleet storm so I am not sure what to expect.

I have a 100% chance of sleet/snow, but am not in the WWA. Then again, my high is supposed to be 52.

Lol not really any snowman. But it can be a lot of fun (if you're safe with it) I went out sledding on hills and it was a blast. It's somewhat difficult to drive in though. A family member of ours got stuck in a ditch and on our way to get him we almost hit a car at a stop light.
