NAM lied !
If you look at a radar loop & obs over the last two hours, that's pretty much exactly what happened. The models handled this situation very well.

32 and light snow here in Denison most of the afternoon. Not sticking however and no travel problems...yet.
But darkness is approaching and the moderate snow band to our west is approaching, so maybe a dusting in order for this evening here along the Red River.
All in all, a very cold and raw January day...but I'm still ready and waiting for an OKC Christmas Eve style snowstorm!!!

Snow has picked up in both flake size (dime size) and intensity. Starting to get the faintest white film showing up on the grass here in Denison.
Nothing like the 5" in OKC that EWG has gotten this afternoon, but it's better than the cold rain we've had much of the day!

What data?
I'm looking at a good old-fashioned water vapor loop and the upper disturbance is now almost due west of DFW and all the lift with it, on its NE side, is moving into Oklahoma. This places the DFW area to its southeast (and eventually S, then SW quadrants)...not the spot you want to be for redevelopment.
Maybe after the axis passes there could be a wrap-around flurry or two, but I wouldn't bet anything on it.
Just curious Weatherdude20... what other data were you looking at?
Also, please check the PMs you received recently and respond. Thanks.
This morning, we got several inches of rain in a very short time as it was quite heavy. There were some stalled out cars along the feeder road in Beaumont where there was high water. There was also high water in some other low laying areas of Beaumont. The ditches in my neighborhood filled and spilled over into the yards, creating a sea in numerous yards, including mine. It didn't go over the street, but was close. There was a ton of thunder and lightning, house shaking thunder... been a while since we've had such an intense storm. I haven't seen the news, but I'm not aware of any damage. There were quite a bit of power outages in the area, fortunately not at my house.

Unless the models go wild, the next few days possibly a week, this thread is gonna go quiet sigh.

Never say never...still have the short-wave to the west and PVA to deal with tomorrow...maybe NW of DFW side sees sleet pellet/snow flurry late as cold advection sets in aloft...but don't get excited about it.
NWS freezing drizzle FTW...
Little bit of light flurries this evening...have fun with it.

TXAGWXMAN,my name is kevin.i live around memphis,tn.We had a pretty decent ice event, but nothing close to icestorm.I wished we would ahve had more snow than ince and sleet.I live 5 minutes from memphis,tn,just south. I wanted to ask you a few things. Ive heard possibilities of a colder pattern setting up the beg-mid part of febuary.Do you agree with that?I would like to see one more decent cold snap in feb,and possibly a better chance at a snow event here.I understand its hard to get snow in the south where we live, but its not impossible. Ive heard the STJ may pick up and if we can get a pattern to unlock some cold from up north, then we got a shot.I just wanted to know what your thoughts was on the matter.

Unsure at this point, but seeing some indications that mid-to-late Feb more cold could come down.

I saw a few flakes mixed in with the rain earlier this afternoon in Mesquite. Keep an eye on the precip moving across Richardson now too! We should see some non-stick flakes in the next few minutes!!!!

How much did y'all end up getting? I heard 75 was shut down south of Sherman due to icing.

That was fun while it lasted! First time I've driven in falling snow!
How did that happen?

Well that was cool I was driving to get something to eat, and noticed the car was white, and flurries were coming down. I went outside and got some of the snow off the car and held it in my hand. It might be the last "snow" of the season. Had to enjoy it.
