You must be in West Frisco. On the far east side it is still mostly sleet with some snow grains mixed in.

Yep. About a mile east of Little Elm and a mile south of 380/Prosper.

Still getting sleet 2 hours after waking up. Ridiculous warm nose. 25 degrees outside. This better change in an hour or I'm going to be disappointed. Sure, sleet's light years better than ice, but when it stacks up it can still be dangerous. :hmm:  :bored:

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Woke up at 9. Still some sleet with snow mixing in, now finally all snow.

I slept in since this was supposed to last into the afternoon.

Needless to say, that forecast busted.

The line is moving alarmingly fast on RadarScope.

Should be mostly over by 10. Only 30 minutes of snow.

Honestly, that does kind of tick me off.

The snow is very heavy and beautiful, but maybe I will get a half inch in 30 minutes. So mad.

850mb 0c is basically bisecting the metroplex ne to sw, took forever. Band coming into FW the meat of the what's left. It is good dBZ though so pretty steady rates when it does fall.

These flakes are huge, some almost an inch wide. Wow. Almost makes up for only getting 30 minutes of this at the end.

Yea it’s been a really nice looking snow. Definitely covering the ground fast. Don’t think we’ll completely cover the grass. But we might get close!

I didn't measure it but if I had to guess, I'd guess we got around 5 inches here. Definitely a great snowstorm.

I sure hope a heavy band moves through northern Dallas County before this ends. Still mostly sleet here. Karl Malden is up in the sky blowing his nose all over the place.

RS appears to be a bit deceptive with speed based on other radars. Some of the prettiest snow I’ve seen. Much better than last year’s flakes.

This is a much wetter snow due to warmer aloft than last year which was dry cotton.

Snowing pretty good here in Flower Mound. So peaceful outside. Hope y'all have a good day today.

Do we need to talk about the next system?

Not really. I hope this one passes us by, I have things planned for that weekend. 18th-20th

Edit: I'll take it though as it can always be done later.

Live oak branches hanging low in north Dallas. Lost power for about six hours overnight. Peeps must have worked hard in early morning hours to fix during sleet. Big warm nose took potential huge snowfall away. :grrr:

Storm wrapping up here and flakes just stopped flying. Nothing but a nice north wind, now. Looks like I got about a tenth of an inch of ice, followed by an inch of sleet and almost two inches of snow on top of that. Not too bad considering this winter almost looked like a bust. We still have at least another month for a better storm. Cheers, everyone. :cold:

Still have power, no internet/TV though. Moderate icing, branches on trees are weighed down a bit.

Light ice pellets right now in east-central Austin. I had about 3" rain at the station near me yesterday, through last night. I had a lot of thunder around midnight, before the freeze came through. Can't quantify, but I see a coating and icicles on my big trees, driveway and patio iced and a topping of sleet. Street in front looks bad but traffic proceeding ok; could get worse though as it gets colder. Good day to be retired.
