Ok, the cold can leave now. This born and raised southern boy isn't equipped for teens with wind chills below 0. Sleet sucks, and I think my garage door is frozen shut. It faces the north where all the rain was pounding on it and freezing.

Would have been real nice to some some bigger snow accumulations with these super cold temps. I guess we'll take what we can get.

He was referring to the event that will take place down here in Houston on Thursday and Friday. 60% chance of snow.

The precip has been done since around 8 or so here other than some minor flurries. Last night I had planned on seeing more when I woke up this morning. A little let down but very happy to see it nonetheless.

This storm was absolutely hauling - much faster than anyone thought. I don't recall a big system moving that fast.

It'll be done with Oklahoma much sooner than predicted too. The sun is breaking out here by Jerryworld..

This is not an official prediction.

Yep, squall line started forming in south Texas and gave a big lift that pushed it all out. No complaints though. Not like I had to drive anywhere anyways, still work as usual here.

Definitely. It wasn't that long ago that getting 1 wintry weather event was a lot, much less 2, 3 or 4 a winter.

This shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone. The models had been showing this for the past 48 hours or so - had qpf at less than a tenth of an inch from 7 am onward.

Another note: that 500 mb chart for the Thursday system looks really good for a storm across Texas once again but where are we going to find the moisture ?

It doesn't look like we got any snow here. Lots of sleet though. Sleet and thunder. Those winds are howling too. We did watch a neighbor almost take out his fence trying to back out. It's nasty out there!
