Yeah I'm expecting that schools will remain closed tomorrow. The roads are just getting worse as some melting occurs underneath and then re-freezes. Earlier on my street, the sleet provided some traction, but now it's solid ice. Just need a zamboni and we could play ice hockey.

That's been the general trend this winter, but then as the storm comes through it trends a little north. So hopefully it doesn't go so far south that the northward trend is still too south.

Hopefully we can get that low to form further west & north.

Two places...1st place is that huge body of water known as the Pacific. 700mb flow will be sucking in Pacific moisture...moistening up the column. 2nd place is the Gulf. The low will throw plenty of moisture in.
This is very similar to Christmas 2004...but perhaps with a little more moisture available...and colder temps (so a higher ratio).
AFM are you buying the latest GFS showing less moisture for friday.

Speaking of ice hockey, Portastorm was right! I just got done skating on the streets here in Denton. I took video but don't have an account to load it up with. I was getting thumbs up from drivers going by and the girls around my apartment complex were pretty impressed as well.So yeah, I skated on the streets in Texas during the middle of the day!

Probably a good point about the big ISDs like Dallas, Ft. Worth and Plano. Here in Rockwall, this is the 1st day they cancelled this year, so they could afford to miss another and still use some built-in make-up days.
