Gracias! We are south of Houston proper (and obviously south of I-10), and the way you guys have been talking, it sounded like we might get walloped due to our proximity to the coast and the increasing moisture in the models.

I put up 2x4 boards in a square yesterday, and threw down a tarp. I flooded the square yesterday morning, and the tarp held. First 1.5-2 inches frozen between midnight and now. It is 4 inches deep at furthest incline. If things keep going the way they are going -- I will be able to play hockey on an non-refrigerated artificial rink beside my house. I got a squigee and bucket for warm tap water to 'zam' the surface before we skate - hopefully tomorrow.

I live in Angleton as well (off of Manor Dr). I think we are looking at similar amounts...maybe 2" or so...but the potential is for much more. If I were to find out on Friday we had had 5-7"...I wouldn't be shocked. It all depends on how the meso-bands fall out. It will be plenty cold throughout the air column...cold ground (no melting) and plenty moist. All the variables are there...we just have to wait and see if the models respond.

Very cool! The link isn't working, though. I'd love to see it!

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR BLOWING SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4
PM CST THIS AFTERNOON. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT
UNTIL 6 AM CST WEDNESDAY.
THE HEAVY SLEET AND SNOW HAS ENDED OVER THE AREA. SOME LINGERING
LIGHT SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. HOWEVER STRONG
NORTH WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW THAT
WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES AT TIMES. IN ADDITION WIND CHILLS WILL
REMAIN OR DROP BELOW 0 AT TIMES THROUGH TONIGHT.
ROADS...BRIDGES...AND OVERPASSES IN THE WARNING AREA WILL BE VERY
HAZARDOUS...AND POSSIBLY IMPASSIBLE. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN
EXTRA BLANKET...FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN
CASE YOU BECOME STRANDED.
A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO
THE COLD MAY RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF
PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...WEAR A
HAT AND GLOVES.

All models are a little wetter...especially with their 700MB RH's. NAM is much wetter...especially with QPF and snow totals to the E and NE of HOU. GFS QPF went way up from 06z...with >.1" now over all of coastal SE TX. 06z only had .01-.09 over that area...with most of it being in the .01/trace category.
