Ah, it's a pleasant 26F in SW Houston this morning with a nice northerly breeze keeping it from getting too hot today. I think I'll put on my cycling shorts and go for a nice, long ride before the temperature gets too warm. The cold air is quite invigorating. I only wish that every day of the year could be just like this. Maybe a little cold rain would make it better.

OKC officially was 6.9 inches. For the smaller towns watch the local storm reports on the NWS page or the public information statement. At some point they'll probably have a big list

Went for a 5 mile run yesterday. Gonna double it today.

If I could marry myself to running weather, this is it. If you have the right apparel, it’s not bad at all. For me, it’s Sitka merino wool base layer up top, Sitka beanie, and my running shorts with Sitka base layer pants under them. It works wonders.

Between 20-50 degrees, I can torch my normal times. 10-20 and 50-60 it tails off a tad. Anything under 0 and over 70, and I really don’t want to run outside.

Give me about 4 more weeks of this stuff, then you warm weather people can have your hell season

You think roads become good enough by tomorrow evening to drive to Love Field?

The GEFS has taken note of this with a Strong -EPO & -AO.

Probably yeah. Solar insolation will be strong tomorrow afternoon + UHI there.

One thing I find peculiar is that the gfs really doesn’t cool down the source region much even when the -EPO starts taking over again. I assume this something it may not have a great hold on this far out, but I figured there would be at least a run or two cooling it down more.

With hopefully a deeper ejection with more snow this time. Lol.

The roads are still ice, but the sun out today is helping start melting. We need to go somewhere tomorrow, so need our driveway to be de-iced.

Heh. I did the same with a round point shovel many years ago, also trying to break through sleet and ice. Except it was like 2" of the nasty stuff. Broke the point right off. I decided to let Mother Nature take over.
