Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

12z GFS is already very interesting because it's showing a very active Late December winter pattern.

GFS ensembles are looking promising. If it holds, New Years will be interesting if we can get a Greenland block, and a block over Alaska.

Are you referring to this? Cuz if so I don’t really see what’s promising about this..

That's building an INSANE amount of Cold in our source region, exactly what you want to see going into the favorable MJO phases...we're due for an extremely cold January, 2022 could be the year!! DFW hasn't had a January Avg. in the 30's F since 1985

There seems to be a southeast ridge and too much of a -PNA and the ridging over western Alaska needs to shift way east.

February 2022 is also looking to be INSANELY COLD as well, we're overdue for Back-to-Back February Cold Waves.

While we sit through this current sea of warmth, just something to ponder. He is tweeting in particular about Boston but I have seen the weeklies and there is a reversal. What does this mean? It means the models are slowly picking up the changes and getting out of the old rut pattern and seeing the new as it approaches.

The blocking is on the way.

My guy, February did the trick last year. Another super cold outbreak and people are really going to start harassing Wxman57!

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Goal: to become a registered expert over tropical and subtropical cyclones.

I'm not sure about that.

Once in around 20 years, in Back-to-back years, a cold wave spills (Or below normal Temperatures) into the CONUS in February.

Here are the Analog years for this: 1935 & 1936, 1954 & 1955, 1977 & 1978, with the last one occurring in 1994 & 1995. All of this was in February
