Question- where can you find the record low temps for each city in Texas? Where I used to look, can’t locate what I’m looking for?
Same thing for record snowfall?

28 and cloudy here. Sky lightened briefly, but sun never popped out. Darkening again.

18z HRRR has a good look to the precip shield tomorrow. Widespread 0.4-0.5” qpf across the metro, no dry slot. Would likely mean 4-8” broad brushed across the area if it’s all snow

Let's go ahead and book that run. Almost everybody wins...a few inches of snow even down to Houston!

DFW was at 29F just after 1:30pm. The recording site is in the shade and on higher ground so with the wind we just have to keep it from hitting 32. If it doesn't then we'll just pretend the IMBY readings never happened. No one will know when you retell the lore!
Speaking of recording site, fyi 1989 is the only time the Airport itself recorded below 0 where it is. Prior to the 1970s it was at other locations in the region. It's also on higher ground compared to the lower valleys where max lows can occur so to get it so cold there is hard.
edit: 30F now as of 2pm

Before the NWS website revamp, many regions had a climo page with that kind of data (not sure about snow). Here's the "old" climo page from NWS Houston/Galveston: Interesting that Feb 12-16 has the records for February. 1899 - 6F, 1899 - 6F, 1899 - 10F, 1905 - 18F, and 1895 - 13F. Houston may break the record of 13F on Tuesday. My pipes are fully insulated. Will be taking our last shower tomorrow evening before filling up six HD 5-gal buckets of water and shutting off the water.

Here's a plot of 12Z models. All show pretty darn cold Monday and very darn cold Tue AM. The UKMET's -1F for Tuesday seems a bit extreme.

Weather is why I got into statistics. I remember digging up data. Want to say it was Dallas Naval Air Station then Love field and then onto DFW. Prior to 89, we hit below zero in ‘49 and prior to that ‘31. Im too lazy on the phone to go look this all up. They were building DFW when we got here so it’s really all I know from a personal experience.

Midland updated their watches. SE Texas will probably go to warnings as well. All of Oklahoma and almost all of Arkansas. NW third of Louisiana, that covers just about all of the southern plains.
