So I'm over here in south Louisiana between Lafayette and Alexandria. I bought a house in the summer, it's on a slab. The outdoor faucets just kinda protrude out of the walls, maybe 2 inches. I plan to run those, but really no way to wrap them. Should they be okay?

4" of snow tonight
Tuesday morning low of 3, this all depends on how much snow is on the ground. I'm going full jinx since i believe we will have more snow on the ground than models show, hence a bit lower temp than they are predicting.

I have an official weather station in my backyard, 30 ft up. Will give reports tonight as the storm rolls through.
Just north of you in Cinco Ranch so I’ll be looking forward to your updates!

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

I’m in the Baton Rouge area and I wrapped my protruding faucets in strips cut from an old blanket, then I covered them with a small plastic bag and taped it in place.

Update near Tyler.

Roads are covered in sleet from over night sleet. Currently near 25 degrees and light snow flurries.

Grass, trees, and roofs are moderately iced.

And we are getting ready for the good stuff coming...

I’ve got 1” IMBY all snow. Rest of the forecast holds true, 4-6” is the target.

Closer to 6". One of the rare snows where pavement has more accumulations than the grass. This constant light snow may not seem like much but it gets us a head start.

I had some foam strips for doors and windows they are about an inch wide they have a stickey back to them. Our outdoor faucets stick out about a couple of inches as well. We just wrapped the faucets a couple of times.
