Email them and ask why they aren't doing it. They usually answer emails and all NWS offices websites have a way you can contact them.

I've emailed the DFW office and received a reply every time. The email addr is SR-FWD.Webmaster@noaa.gov. Just don't expect a timely response.

Fox 4 was just saying 1-3, but with the new guidance coming in they may have to tweak those amounts a little. At least one on the weather stations seems to be in line with that is being said on here.

Colder maybe, I don't think it shows wetter. If anything a bit drier but that's a very tiny shift compared to 12z for our area. Has a good area of 3 inches.

Overall no big changes either way with the 0z GFS so, my official guess. Is 3-5 inch widespread amounts for North texas. Some less and some maybe more up around 6-7 inches.

Looks like NWS is going by the NAM. I still believe the higher amounts will be along I-20 east/southeast. Not the north and west. I guess where the heaviest bands develop will be the deciding factor.

It's different for each area. I think mainly it's based on how it effects the roadways. If there is going to be significant impacts on travel, you'll likely see a winter storm warning.

It's just the safe bet going with the higher totals north and west. It's what all the weather people here do.

Argh, tv guys in Austin, say yeah for rain only. abc has low crossing n.texas. nbc has low crossing central texas which = best chance for snow in Austin Thursday night. Temple northward still looks to be on track for prolong wintry precip either way.

NWS LCH just updated and now has 50% snow/sleet for my area overnight tonight, including Beaumont.

hmmm, don't see it happening... but sure hope it does!
