Snow is coming down pretty good here in s Tyler. it's beginning to stick on the ground. If it could do this for a couple of hours we might have a nice little accumulation. Sorry for those not getting snow.

Not a single flake here in Grayson county. 30 degrees and a light rain. This one has a wow factor to it.

Forecast soundings indicate the warm nose diminishes over the next few hours, but the precip may be ending around noon.

wxman57 wrote:Current RUC sounding looks nothing like the model projections from yesterday. There's a warm nose about 5000-6000 ft up over the D-FW area this morning. That's not good for snow.

Good example here on why counting on a sounding based on model projections, per our spotty upper air sampling network, can burn you.

The warm nose is definitely less stout in E TX.

Wow! I was planning to live vicariously thru y'all today with the expected snow. Never believed the 6-10" forecasts but still 2-4 was good enough. But what a bust! Does this go down as one of the biggest all time winter busts for you guys? We had our share, 3 as a matter of fact last winter that I personally will probably never forget.

Accumulating sleet in Grapevine, not what I expected to wake up to at all. What the heck happened?

Definetely one of the hardest busts I can remember given the model progression as a consensus even the night before. But we knew it could bust given the nature of ULL tracks, however I was at least expecting some snow and by bust meaning less amounts...not nothing.

ULL tracked farther south and the warm nose was not forecasted correctly

What a crazy journey the past few days have been. This system went from nothing to a possible Snowmaggedon in 2 days. Got to love guessing at a Texas winter storm. Nothing against anybody though, I was ready to call people out for low balling predicted accumulations!

We are finally seeing some light wet snow mix in with the rain.

Too little too late. Colossal bust.

Lucy has many tools in her arsenal. Lol

Warm nose was 35F instead of 33 In the Metroplex so all snow melted.

haha, Looking over the latest model runs, they still think there should be 4 + inches of snow on the ground across the metroplex. Who's going to inform them of the news ?
