SPC putting out heavy snow wording for South Central Texas. Wouldn't be surprised if we saw some thunder snow down here.

Won't see this very often in south-central Texas. Heavy snow discussion from Storm Prediction Center. Snow will fill in on radar and really crank up in intensity next 2 - 4 hours as upper low pivots in #txwx

Can we all give a LOUD Storm2K shoutout to my Dodge Grand Caravan. It got me home safe and seemed to drive better than half the big trucks on the road. :cheesy:

BTW Abilene is a mess right now. At least 5 to 6 inches with higher drifts. Gotta admit, it has been fun though. Texas nailed it this time. 8-)

Now on to Wednesday..... :cold: :froze:

Can anyone verify the official DFW records. This is from Bastardi on weatherbell:

At least its (GFS-Para) better than the euro. 18z run had. 14 in Dallas, euro 15 for 7 pm dallas time, Its actually 10
they have already crushed their record for the data ( 15 back in 1905)
This has got to be their most extreme winter ob on record with snow, 10 degrees and a wind chill of -8
over 100k without power now

This is wild. Until a few days ago I would have never dreamed of 10 degrees and snow in Dallas :double:

Oh and that wind hits you right in the face

Indeed DFW has beaten the daily low of record for Feb 14th of 15F. In fact this was the late afternoon high.

I hope these will be bigger and wetter flakes. Right now lots of tiny little flakes, lol. Although at 19.8 degrees in SE Austin maybe too cold for that? Never seen temps so cold with snow before.

I can't see how this is not an economic disaster, much less one damage wise. Good luck to all of you down there. We will get snow out of this, again, but nothing record breaking.

I am frustrated with DFW airports snow reporting. It's so inconsistent in the observations, unless I am looking at it wrong? And FW doesn't update like they do in past snow storms.

With that warning from EWX, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see 3-7 inches of snow in San Antonio :froze:
