Yep, there's something funny about the radar. Now just as it looks as if the band has moved past here, it's snowing harder and starting to accumulate. A dusting so far.

Is that where SA's snow will come from?

Look at this. Towards the east, you can finally see deeper Gulf moisture arriving.

That could be SAs 2nd band, as I still believe the SSWward developing meso convective band will arrive there later. I could be wrong about both though.

I have about 3/4 an inch of snow already in Midlothian. Unlike other snowfalls, this stuff immediately started sticking. Ground pretty much frozen already, so no heavy snowburst needed to kickstart the accumulation.
At this point, an inch would be an awesome cap to the week. I wanted to use my ice rink tomorrow, but now have to figure out a way to dust off the snow

It will be easy to move, fluffy stuff like you see up north.

But that band is approaching SA and no backbuilding has begun to get even close to here yet.

My hands are frozen. I should have put my gloves on, dang. I got some video though that I'll upload later. I'd say it's an inch already.
I do live really close to Joe Pool...probably lake effect ;] lol.

Looks like snow is on the radar all the way down towards San Angelo and Kerrville. Also, as mentioned above, some precip developing out in portions of West Texas too. Don't know if all of it is reaching the ground or how intense it is, but I'd say there will be two or three rounds before all is and done.
EDIT: And if that happens, this storm may really surprise with some bigger than expected accumulations.

Just my thoughts - not an official forecast, of course.

According to Parker_county, it's even snowing where it's not showing up on radar. Weird storm. It seems the snow sticks on the pavement quicker than the grass!
The snow is almost like baking flour.

This is like the mountain powder you see in the Wasatch in Utah. Its really soft, fluffy, not wet, and dry. I would assume that the snow ratios Utah usually sees in the Wasatch would be similar to what we are seeing now?

My guess is with the low dewpoints, you're still trying to saturate the air, but I defer to the pros.kb75007 wrote:Yeah this is very weird. The radar is showing pretty moderate snow for me, but im getting very small flurries.
