I measured 3.5" in my part of Rockwall. Measured it on a flagstone surface. Only the cold water supply to our kitchen is frozen. The hot water is fine so I'm letting it drip.

Trying to read through overnight posts.

I know somebody in Rockwall without power since 3.

That is not a rolling outage. ERCOT could be sued for this criminality.

Oh, my wife said this morning I was right and we should have got a generator. Yay.

It’s 7 out here in forney ( 25 miles east of Dallas) not sure how I can measure anything. There 2ft drifts in my back yard and nothing much on the driveway out front from the wind. It looks like it doubled over night with that 3rd band though.

I’m worried that this isn’t going anywhere and the next one coming in Wednesday is just going to make it worse.

What if there was a ERCOT Substation that failed while the rolling blackouts were being done? That has happened too many times with Electric Companies when they had to do rolling blackouts . . .

I wonder who their provider is? We have Farmer's Electric. Most of Rockwall is with Oncor I believe. We last lost power at 6:59am and it was back at 7:09am. So far not another but I expect it anytime now.

So did we got a major dry slot in NW Houston? I fell asleep around 3am and it had just started snowing after massive sleet came down. Looks like we didn't get a lot of snow.

First two of my truck are on N Loop 281 in Longview this morning.

I'm not sure what the true total in Longview ended up. Flat open areas between 12-14" seemed common. I drove through some places where the snow was at least 18". Snow is so powdery, it's actually really easy to drive in compared to most winter events.

These are at my house on Lake Cherokee south of Longview. We had a lot more sleet here and missed out on the snow from the original Dallas band. We really made up for it with the main show after midnight! 8-12" out here at the lake.

Not sure. I haven’t lost power here in north FW but it’s coming I’m sure.

Got down to 3 IMBY.

Sunny now.

Well, we're one of the lucky ones without power since 2:00 am this morning. Fireplace is roaring, but not really helping much. One frozen pipe in the bathroom on the North facing wall. Got it running now and all dripping. Not sure how much snow total we have, but it definitely accumulated quite a bit more overnight. Guessing by the looks of it at least 8" or more total??

We are also having major power problems. My parents have been without power since last night and no one can help them get warm. I am truly shocked at the devastation here and so many people are actually freezing outside. We have a lot of homes in Corpus that are not built well and lots of homeless.

Hearing rumors from some guys in the energy trading industry that there is a separate issue which has lower the load amount significantly. This is terrible news for today and this evening.

As best as I can tell ... got about 6" here at the Portastorm Weather Center. Have snow drifts in my backyard! Most snow I have ever seen here in 37 years!

Tankless water heater in the garage froze up so no hot water for the Grey Goose-swilling mets here. Good thing they showered last night! LOL.

Ventured outside. Man it’s cold. I don’t recall it this cold after Kansas snowstorms growing up, it usually warms up like here.

After measuring, saying 5 inches of snow here in north FW.

Lots of drifts so hard to say exactly.

Portastorm, I can’t tell you how happy I am that you finally booted Lucy’s football through the uprights at DKR. I think maybe even your nemesis/friend Wxman57 might be smiling a bit at that report.

The cold is serious, but you got a snowfall you will never forget. Austin is no longer the Freezing Drizzle Capitol of the world, it’s the Snow Capitol for Texas. Enjoy the snow you have waited for all these years.

BTW, anyone hear from Wxman57 and how he’s doing down in Houston?

Thank you for the update! We hope he can stay warm and get through this.

Can pipes freeze, but not bust or spring a leak?

Final measurement: 8 inches

The 5-6 inch measurements were drifted snow, found a undrifted area of at least 8 inches

Has anyone mentioned how cold it is?

Think we got somewhere between 4 - 5" here IMBY. Had some on & off flurries this morning.
