Poor Jerry. What a Super Bowl week this has turned out to be.
Read in the Star Telegram today where national media were griping and complaining about Dallas being totally unprepared to deal with this kind of stuff. No way to remove it.
Well, duh...you're in Texas folks!
EDIT: Actually, it was on WFAA.com

Just east of downtown -- measured a bit over 2" just now but it's coming down strong.Ntxw wrote:Dallas county is getting hammered right now. Any reports from Dallas' inner core? The dry slot west of FW is starting to fill in with the bands coming from Abilene area.

In North Dallas, not sure how many inches, but I'd say this heavy shower will put us close to 4''. Curb is almost entirely part of the street at this point.

Still seems underdone. Sounds like some folks in the Metroplex are at or beyond what NWS is now forecasting.

Re: Texas Winter 2010-2011
NWS updated and says 3.5 inches for my area. I've already got that much and getting some moderate snow right now. Seems like I'll have at least 5 inches before it's over

Latest RUC, on twisterdata.com, is pumping out some hefty amounts of precip for NTX!

So my measurement is correct! Though it's likely more now. It's been coming down harder for about 15 minues now.
Oh that is what they're forecasting? Lame.

Just took a measurement. Got 3.8-3.9. Coming down hard, easily past 4 within the next 10-15 mins.

FW NWS might be drunk. If that was a map saying additional forecast, I could accept that, but I already have more than that on the ground. & there may still be 2 more bands coming in later.

Same story in Cypress... Am also hoping the ULL tracks that way too. I want some white stuff

Have you guys looked recently at the TXDOT cams for 75? At what point do those major thoroughfares become impassable? Everything is just white in the camera shots and I'd imagine it's nearly, if not impossible, to drive in those conditions.

We can't even walk on our own sidewalks without falling, nonetheless drive...the snow only masks the ice underneath there's no traction.

No reason to believe it won't, unless the ULL starts tracking due north.
If it travels northeast, central TX should miss out on more precip, but DFW would get 2-5 more inches, I believe.

Would you be so kind as to give us a link for the cams.
