Snowed in Humble too Txagwxman...Do you think this is a harbinger of things to come? Could February have more surprises? Even March?

Same here. :( 33° and still getting rain - same story for the past umpteen hours. *sigh* And it seems everyone around me is getting at least a little snow.

It's 35° and snowing in Lafayette. It's 33° here. My thermometer isn't off. All nearby Weatherbug stations are reporting 32° - 33° as well. Supposedly, the potential was there, meaning the air above the surface would be cold enough to support snow, so I'm just wondering why it's all rain here. Just crappy luck?

Edit: I just checked BPT airport and they reported unknown precip shortly before 6am, so either I slept through something frozen that has since melted, or even areas SOUTH of me got a little something. Figures. lol

Don't see anything falling now (near Hobby), but there could have been a couple of flakes as the precip ended.

If this pattern holds DFW going to break the all-time seasonal snow fall record in 1977-1978. I see more coming next weekend.

Hopefully DFW can shatter the record and get over 20 inches for the season.

Maybe this next one will be another huge storm or maybe this and another storm will take place before fun and games end in March - 24-inches anyone?

I mean after a White Christmas and an all-time record snowstorm, why not make this the ultimate benchmark year?!? :D

And of course get Portastorm and our SE Texas sneaux buddies a big storm of their own!!

I made a couple RUC soundings for BPT for 6am and 8am. There is a small area of above-freezing air a few thousand feet up. But that area is shrinking fast. It should be gone just about the time the precip ends. You could see a few flakes any minute now:

:uarrow: I think Dallas and Oklahoma City will probably both break their seasonal records by the time it is all said and done. Dallas needs 1.9 more inches to do it, and Oklahoma City needs 5.3 inches. Both of those numbers seem doable if this pattern keeps up IMO. :uarrow:

BTW - there is one city in this region that has already broken their all-time seasonal record. That city is Wichita Falls. As of yesterday their seasonal total has risen to 14.8 inches, surpassing the old record for a single season (14.3 inches) set over 50 years ago!

Yeah, I see, 4 minutes of snow. The airport is about 2 miles to my NW. Went outside at 8am and no precip falling here. Guess I missed it.

Thanks, wxman57. After 600 straight hours of rain :P it has finally ended, so if there's just now the opportunity for snow, I barely missed it. It was still raining an hour ago and it was sprinkling about 15-20 minutes ago. Nothing now.

It's not like I would have gotten enough to actually play in it anyway, but it's still nice to watch it falling. I feel cheated. heh
Maybe next time.

I'm amazed right now looking out the window. You can't appreciate it at night, but this morning. MY GOD!!!! every tree is weighed down the ground almost, some are broke. The bushes I don't even know what they are. They're not normal.

This is just amazing. I'm in awe.
