When is the system supposed to push into Texas and then into North Texas? I have to work until 1 am and I need to know when to wake up! Have to watch the flurries.

I took a look at the RAP chart for the Lindale area, we will have moisture except for right around 850mb so I take that to mean flurries are likely, but it will be hard to get much more than that without more moisture at that level.

It appears light snow will move into the western portions of the Metroplex around 6-7 am, and ending before noon

Apparently the school district where my wife works (RRISD in Austin) is having a late start tomorrow. She told me.

https://www.roundrockisd.org/

The NWS forecast for Austin shows:

Overnight Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. North wind around 15 mph.
Thursday Cloudy, with a high near 35. North northeast wind 10 to 15 mph.
Thursday Night Cloudy, with a low around 28. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday A slight chance of freezing drizzle before 9am, then a slight chance of drizzle. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east southeast in the afternoon.

Nothing possible until Friday morning. Maybe the school district administration is paranoid based on last time(?). No late start for me. Nothing on radar. I am perplexed. :double:

There could be some very light freezing rain/sleet in that area, but nothing to cause icing problems based on model data. Maybe they don't want kids waiting on the bus in the cold? I

BREAKING NEWS from the IWantSnow.com Network: Reports from scenic southwest Austin indicate that PWC founder and executive director Portastorm is believed to be asleep as snow is being reported early this morning throughout portions of the Capitol City.

Fearing that an extra-heavy dose of sleep inducing Benadryl has been slipped into Porta's mug of late-night hot chocolate (the one and only suspect at the moment is a certain Heat Miser from Houston), local authorities have been dispatched.

They are said to currently be pounding on Porta's door, imploring him to wake up and see snow falling.

Nearby neighbors report hearing cries from the authorities of "Portastorm, Omaha, Omaha, it's snowing in Austin! This isn't a dream! Lucy has fumbled the football!!!"

Details as they become available.
