New Orleans is worse. Like Houston with no sea/land breeze.

My kid was in a soccer tournament around Labor Day 2023. 109, 109 and 110. The one night game it was dark but still 103. Miserable stuff.

For me it really isn't the 90s or 100s (though I'd rather not) it's when the lows don't fall below 75 and then it's 80+ by 8am.

All this talk about summer and humidity is disgusting!!! I'm with Stratton nothing above 60 please. We will have 10 months of warmth no worries. Hopefully some low level cold can beat the models.

Heavy rainfall is setting up over N/NE Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Can already see where the training will set up.

New Orleans August 1995. Road trip to the Crescent City. The worst humidity I've ever felt with zero wind. The humid fog was visible one foot in front of your face. Just awful. Mardi Gras 2000 was actually on the chilly side and where I saw Peter Weller and yelled out Robocop!!! then he ran away. True story

Not too often seeing this in the point forecast:

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Patchy fog. Steady temperature around 58. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming north northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 3 and 4 inches possible.

Both DFW and Meacham have picked up over half an inch of rain and are getting quite a bit more on radar.

Already almost up to an inch. Backyard is a pond.

DFW already has 1.5" of rain just this hour. I'm one of those people south and west of the airport in Arlington and it's been a consistent moderate/heavy rain here... but it seems like the severe threat isn't going to materialize.

I grew up in the Nola area. I never realized how humid it was until I moved away, and then went back to visit. It can feel suffocating. One year we went visit over the summer and were outside having a crawfish boil with family. Me and my wife had heat exhaustion complete with rapid heartbeat and feeling faint. We had to go inside to cool off and hydrate. Felt like wusses.

Old daily rainfall record was 0.93" so this one makes the record books.

Might be a tiny bit of a stretch, but 2.98" gets DFW to Top 10 wettest January territory.

Unless this builds west, I'm thinking this will end quicker rather than later. I was hoping for an all nighter rain event. Either way rain is wonderful.

At least 1.83"+ for the day so far, looks doable.

Edit: 2" now.
