Is this good or bad?

Good if you want snow, bad if you're tired of cold like me. Yes, the 12Z Euro is a lot closer to the 12Z GFS, showing another snow event for Texas next week. Little confidence in the details of amounts and location at this time, though.

Yea, ECMWF not that cold either...it will likely be a rain/snow mix central TX. But GFS shows potential.

Hang tough, wxman57. It won't be long before you're cruising around on your bike in shorts. Just give us one more snow event and then the warm air can take over. I generally love the cold weather break during the winter, but even I'm growing weary of it this year. If snow is on the horizon though, that's completely different.

Right now I'm thinking the I-35 and I-45 triangle along with west Texas and points inbetween for frozen precip at one point or another.

Yeah, it's always ONE more event. You snow guys here are never satisfied. I saw a few flakes in December. That's more than enough for me.

We have issued some snow forecast charts that takes the trace of snow down to central Harris County next Tuesday and 4-6" into Dallas. Heavier snow southwest of I-20 this time. 12Z Euro is VERY much in line with the GFS as far as the 500MB pattern. So my confidence that we will see a snow event is increasing significantly.

On the way out the door this morning, DFW Ch. 5 weather said possible snow flurries on Tueday. Should I expect that to change?

I wonder how the the local TV and NWS mets will handle this storm in terms of potential when things get clearer. They really got caught with this last storm, at least in terms of what they were telling the public. I assume they saw the same things we did but did not mention it.

LOL! Well, I've only had ONE event this winter so far (early Dec.), so it's been the same "one more event" for me since then. It's those northern Texas snow hogs who can't get enough.

This one looks close, so while I am truly looking forward to spring weather, I am hoping we can squeeze out one last hurrah before the warm weather takes over. We might as well go out with a bang.

You often squash any hope of snow we have (and unfortunately, quite accurately), so I love your last sentence! :D

Just curious. Does anyone still have any snow on the ground? Up here in Denton in the shaded areas there is still some, very little, but it's still there. Also on the UNT campus the students rolled this huge, I mean HUGE, snowball that is still outside my building. It's crazy!!!! :froze:

Welcome Storm Tracker SA-CS ... looks increasingly likely that we could see several inches from south central Texas up into the College Station area. Subject to change, of course!

Well, I'm not sure what the majors are for your fellow Aggies but I bet those in the meteorology building won't think you're crazy. I'm sure that they are tracking it like we are.

The UKMET (United Kingdom Meteorological office's model) agrees with the GFS and European model in bringing a storm across Texas next Tuesday.

I rolled a large base for a snowman that probably weighed 100 lbs. There was still a small pile of it left this morning.
