So what's going on? I expected things to really being cranking about now. Did we get dry slotted? UNT is closed but the roads and stuff don't look all that bad out my window. Is more on the way or something? The radar does not look that impressive....... Sure is cold!!!!!!!!!!

Blech... more sleet. Roads will be awful with sleet in these temps.

Today: Snow and freezing rain before noon, then a chance of snow and sleet. Temperature falling to around 14 by noon. Wind chill values between -5 and 5. Windy, with a north northwest wind between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Snow or no snow, temps will match last week lol, looks like we're stuck in the mid to low teens with these icy roads all day.

Probably on and off snow showers this morning based on radar returns. If things continue the way it is, will have to give it to the NAM lol.

Funny how when it's not forecasted we get pounded and when all of the local mets and NWS forecast it things fall apart. I just love Texas weather!

Re: Texas Winter 2010-2011
I just had to run to the store. My car therm said its 22 degrees when I left and 19 when I got back about 20 minutes later. The roads are definitely a little slick this morning in Little Elm with a slight bit of ice on them. It was snowing lightly and the wind was blowing it everywhere. Was pretty neat to watch it blow across the road when stopped at red lights.

Light frozen precip now falling.
Kudos to txagwxman ... he was right on the money with this one!
Yes he was, I just wish we are more stuff falling. So far I am not impressed. Funny thing is a few years ago this would have been the end of the world in terms of what's on the road. It does not take much to make things bad but our expectations of amounts have gone up. Well I will enjoy this for what it is seeing as it's the last one till next winter, right?

But yet Pete Delkus could get the super bowl forecast right on 16 days out..haha... He said it would be 40 and raining...
Well now one thing is only left to do..everyone fill this topic up so we can break last years record!!!!

Light snow starting to pick up again here and temp holding about 19. (By the airport).
Starting to look impressive with the wind picking up the dusting and blowing it around lol not too shabby. I'm guessing once the sun comes up, things will look more impressive than now.

Hi Keri, and welcome to Texarkana. Nice to have someone else in this neck of the woods.
It has been sleeting off and on here in Texarkana for the last 30 mins. When it has been sleeting it has been coming down fairly heavy. It is 32 degrees. Most of the school districts are already closed here.

Good thing we didn't have more precip, or Austin would be really bad.
Front just went through Caldwell...43F there, 34F Cameron just NW of CLL.
Looks I will get dry slotted again. Oh well...enjoy the 80s next week.

There's always next winter! Supposed to be colder than this year so you never know! Hard to believe how it could get any colder
