Well, the NAM was the winner this time. A friend of mine near Fayetteville, Arkansas says 10 inches of snow last night and still snowing.

Here in Weatherford, very light sleet and 11°. Only 1/4 inch of sleet but roads are icy.

Interesting at 19z for W Houston.

That looks more like the current radar. I'll bet by 19Z that the precip line is well east of downtown Houston.

Where is the front??

Just passing through NW Harris County.

Yes, fortunately we have not received much post-fropa precip. There is a very light mist still falling and, of course, that is not helping anything. The damage is done here. Standing water from the overnight showers froze quickly when the temperature dropped like a rock. Multiple accidents on major arteries and several of the main roads are closed in portions. I-35 is reportedly a parking lot coming south out of Georgetown.

Good news is precip seems to be ending and winds are drying things up.

And I should add that my commute downtown wasn't too bad at all as I stayed off bridges, etc. I think the accidents are more a result of dumb drivers and a little ice.

Moderate band of snow/sleet is about to sweep the metroplex. Any roads not covered will likely go white not too long from now.

All I want is enough snow to hide all that nasty brown grass from my view. That and for school to be closed Thursday so I won't have to hear people giving me a hard time for guaranteeing it. :D

I'd give it 80% schools will be closed tomorrow. It's picking up hard here with sleet/snow. It's packed together and the grass is starting to fill in. The last band should do it for you

Looks like the freeze line is at Chappell Hill on 290 (east of Brenham).

It is now well below freezing in College Station (27). Rain is freezing on vehicles and raised surfaces and there are very light snow flurries blowing around.

Oh, and hi everyone. First post. :)

Snow is coming down in Texarkana and it is sticking. It is accumulating on grass, cars, etc.

1/4" of ice is enought to make life suck on the roadways, but the real story will be the cold, it's 11 now and only dropping, I wont be suprised to see single digits this afternoon and the WC will stay below 0.

Just a light dusting of snow in San Angelo and 16 degrees. The clouds just disappeared in the last few minutes and now have clear sunny skies.

Oh, and hi everyone. First post. :)

Welcome :D

That's cool. It's amazing how straight down the cold is. Along I-20 ETX it's still in the mid to upper 30s - and rain. :x Well I'm in school during a Winter Storm Warning, but I don't think the WSW was necessary.. but we'll see.

Checking the water vapor imagery it looks like Pacific moisture is trying to work its way into the state. From a complete weather novice could this result in any more precipitation?
