Gatorcane, is the gfs parallel at all accurate? Or is the reg gfs more accurate?

We don't know yet it's scoring record. It's likely the next update for the GFS in a few months...great as if one GFS doesn't hook us enough..more model runs to feed the addiction :D

That PGFS run is strange looking, but is somewhat consistent with what we are seeing so far. Quick arctic blasts, followed by relatively quick modification, followed by another quick arctic blast, rinse, repeat. This will be interesting to watch play out.

GFS-Para connects the two highs and gets really funky at 216 hrs. I love it.

The MJO should swing to our favor just in time i think.

GFS is running... Tuesday morning the arctic blast is a little faster pushing into Oklahoma

and then it kind of stalls Tuesday and now a second push Wednesday morning

DFW drops from the mid 60s to the 30s Wednesday afternoon/early evening

according to the GFS yes... the Euro doesn't really have a big front period in that timeframe.

Highs next Thursday in the 30s from DFW to Austin and low 40s in Houston

Why the Euro doesn't have the front?

GFS has a similar front/conditions as was today late next week. Then the Alaskan ridge pops and again shows the SW trough. It will probably show inclement weather again this run

Thickness and 500h heights are very warm aloft. Shows that if there is a front driving next week it's all due to the weight of the cold. 540 freeze thickness is way up in Kansas

Weird wedge like feature over that precip, probably ice

On another note this run is much colder next Friday than previous runs even in the rest of TX

here comes the next arctic blast down the plains at 204

DFW, Austin, and Houston all record frozen precip around Christmas Eve this run. DFW close to a half inch of QPF with temperatures below 30 degrees.

Where do we cash out?
