Dang... It sure is tough to watch as a moderate to heavy snow band drifts by just 20 miles or so to the south... but, I've had plenty for this year, so I hope that you guys to the south get plenty of enjoyment out of this event.

It's their turn, I'm glad parts of central Texas is finally getting their snow, they haven't really gotten anything this year. Now lets see if we can get parts of NW and northern southeast Texas to get some they missed out on it during the Dec event. Sunday-Monday looks better for us.

it was snowing at the house this morning, woke up to a very light dusting, by time I left for work around 7:15 the roof tops and cars windows were covered with a dry snow. Yeah, we got dry slotted for sure, not going to see much here in DFW, but I'm sure this wont be the last chance for snow this winter, still feel like we could get another shot or two before winter ends.

Very happy our CenTex folks are switching over to frozen precip.
I wouldn't count 2-3" out for the southern metroplex by this afternoon, and 1-2" for the rest of the area. Radar currently showing a band seeping a bit north, and W. Texas returns heading in our general direction.

Although that may turn out to be the case, you really can't base that on the radar at this very moment...we'll have to see what develops during the day...

THe line between Austin to Crockett looks to be the bullseye of this event right now .Good to see Waco getting in on the action it missed out on. I see some snow in NW Houston but nothing major tonight. Maybe a dusting. Us Houston folks are normally happy with that though
(Coming from a guy who was in the bullseye of the Dec 4th event
)
I have class till 1230 folks, im hoping it switches to snow byt the time i walk out so my 15 minute walk to the parking lot isn't wet, but snowy!

shibumi - iam not basing it on radar totally iam basing it on meteorological facts and that area is getting dry slotted
storm system is to far south... highly doubt any areas north of i-20 see much more then flurries at this point nothing more then 0.50 to MAYBE 1" but its about wrapped up for most areas around the metroplex region this show is for central tx....

Areas north of I-20 have very low dewpoints, the snow that is falling up there is very light and dry.

If DFW were to get any additional snow in the imediate 1-2hrs it would come from the moderate snow development near Breckenridge.(Stephens County looks good)
Note: I don't know what radars you guys use but 2 of my sensitve radar scans are picking up rapid light snow/flurries developing from Graham to Henrietta. New band? Maybe.

They aren't reporting any snow, most likely virga (Graham to Henrietta). Man I'd like to hear how much snow has fallen in parts of Williamson county north of Austin. Heavy precip continues to train over that region.

that stuff your seeing i doubt is even amounting to anything i took my radar scale to 10 dbz up b/c this precip is
so light in the first place we are seeing ALOT of stuff that isnt even making it to the ground per ground reports in
dfw metroplex where it has showed precip, air being so dry that no ground reports in those areas... so short answer i think that area nw might not be much of anything but still should keep an eye up there...

The Portastorm should be under way as the transition line has made it to Austin proper! Looks like he'll get his field goal points!
