Okay I'm enraged now, we are getting drier air filtering in from the southwest. Even if we get some rain it won't be very much unless something happens that I'm not seeing.

DFW and vicinity still raining this morning. Quite a bit. Some folks are well over 6" already. Temps still a bit too warm for icing at 37, for the moment at the airport. West and NW are cold enough for freezing rain and some are reporting.

I feel ya man. It looked like a sure bet we were gonna get hammered here at my house earlier. Strong line of storms was pushing through Victoria (they got hammered btw) to my southwest moving up towards my direction. Then it weakened and fizzled apart to a few sprinkles and reformed to my east and northeast and we got caught in the middle with nothing. :x

Woke up to find my rain gauge topped out at 5 1/2" of rain. I emptied it to carry on this weeks measurements. I'm guessing we caught up with the deficit of rain in DFW.

Yep, we got absolutely skunked last night! It was almost comical to see two bands of heavy rain lined up on each side of the I-35 corridor and nothing over us.

Pretty sad.

First big weather disappointment of 2018. Was really looking forward to this event as we need the rain. Oh well...such is weather.

Me too. I got a whopping 0.3 in my gauge since yesterday from this gully washer!

Got 2.3 inches IMBY.

Now 32 but not cold enough for freezing rain worries.

Almost everything elevated here is frozen! I'm not sure how thick but looking out the window you can tell all of the trees have a layer of ice on them.

Including yesterday, DFW airport has received about 3.3" of rain so far.

Kind of strange but that guarantees a near normal/or wetter than normal winter as whole. CapnCrunch Halloween forecast strikes back against the Nina

Convection is finally starting to fire across portions of south central TX and the Hill Country. Hoping much of the region can still get some good heavy rainfall today.

Grapevine reporting 32 and McKinney is at 33 as cold air continues to creep in but probably not enough to cause any issues.

The airport is on the lower end for this event as the first couple of rounds earlier missed the airport just to the north and south. Then yesterday in to today the airport is probably still on the low end as bigger totals were out west or east as multiple locations in Tarrant, Denton, Dallas, and Collin counties were over 5" as of 8:00 pm yesterday.

The Euro shows another 3-5" across DFW after today for DFW.

I had a thin layer of glaze on my windshield in Keller. The roads are fine still, but trees and plants are starting to form a little glaze as well. If the CAA is strong enough and we manage to drop another degree or two things could get interesting.

Edit: I can now feel sleet mixing in with the rain

it's 32 @ Alliance Airport and reports of freezing rain mixing in around Sagniaw, 33 in McKinney. Frz line is very slowly sinking to the SE :cold:

My youngest son lives in Bowie and he called me this morning to tell me everything is coated in ice there, and school has been canceled for him.

Will it warm up today during the day or will CAA lower temps more?

Don't see much warming today if any, tonight will be tricky as the DFW area could dip to 31-32, so travel Thursday morning could be nasty but temps are expected to warm tomorrow afternoon.

Looking at radar/models, another surge of rain/precip will head north today into NTX as southern jet remains active

Just a quick question. If the freezing rain continues and ice becomes a bit of a problem, will the school districts close? Asking for a friend....
