What a beautiful winter day!

#1 Postby Scott Patterson » Sun Feb 13, 2011 8:53 pm

Yesterday (Feb 12) was a beautiful winter day.

Kessler (my eight year old son) and I climbed Elmo Peak. It was a bit cool in the morning, but at -12F, it wasn’t cold and it was a bright and sunny day. We climbed the mountain in great weather and the winter scenery was fantastic.

outstanding pic. i like the reference of -12 as being "cool". 60 is cool here, under 40 is cold and at or below freezing is...freezing. perspective matters. good stuff

Had another nice winter day.

My son Kessler and I climbed an 11,725 foot mountain (Taylor) over the past two days. We were going to climb a 12,714 foot mountain as well, but the weather deteriorated. Here is a photo of Kessler just before the weather deteriorated.

AMEN psyclone! At 78f under blue skies right now, this is my kind of weather! Growing up in coastal NJ, I never even saw -10f and really don't need to find out! I'll take our...highs 75-80f through the week. BUt - it sure looks real pretty in pictures!
