The NWS lowered my point forecast to 2-4" overnight. That seams more realistic. We've already got the 2" from when the storm gave the initial strong surge. Now it is super fine snow and I don't expect more than an additional 2" overnight. Now time to look forward to a high of 12F tomorrow!

Well there is a slight chance tomorrow for some freezing rain and flurries other than that not seeing much models seem to keep going all over! Hope we get some more :) Loving the snow we have had!

I will post when it gets a little closer and maybe more models will have an idea

That Monday storm was nothing much at all for the urban corridor.

Tomorrow night/thurs storm is anywhere between .28 and .60 of QPF. 30:1 ratio's shouldn't be an issue. Could see 10" in spots if the higher end verifies. Depends on how far east the low is as it sinks south.

Got a couple inches here from the last storm - but man the roads were bad from just that. GFS still looking like > 0.5" QPF for the Wed night / Thursday storm. Should be enough for a white Christmas to be realized.

.5 at 30:1 is 15" of snow. Even at 20:1, which should be the low end, that's 10" of fluff. Hmmmmm.

Tomorrow night and Thursday looks sweet...I agree if GFS's .5(NAM getting wetter) pans out a foot for Denver is easily possible with these temps. I'm super bummed I'll miss it. Flying home to the Gulf coast tonight...high there tomorrow through Friday...mid 70s. Enjoy your white Christmas peeps! I'll try and enjoy my hot wet one...and ill really enjoy de-snowing and digging my car out of a snow drift at DIA next tuesday!

Latest model runs and where the low sets up are in favor of 12"+ across the metro. The WSW even has mention of 6-12" which I think is conservative.

Rock on!

AREA...WITH A SLOW DECREASE IN DENVER. HOWEVER...SNOW INTENSITY IS

Already near 4"? I suppose that would be one reason for needing to update the point forecast.

Tonight: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 17. North northeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow, mainly before 5pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Temperature rising to near 20 by 9am, then falling to around 13 during the remainder of the day. North northeast wind between 3 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

I easily had 14" of snow this morning when I came home. Not the lightest/fluffiest either. 12:1 maybe.

Snowfall map from last storm. Two surprises. 1) Boulder got hammered more than expected and 2) South towards the Monument area didn't get as much.

Appears that forecasters still have a ways to go at pinpointing local amounts prior to a storm. Models as well.

Incoming storm still stuckin the split flow. 1-3" maybe. Closer to 1" I'd guess. The mountains are insanely dry. We really could use the NW flow to kick in. Yes, it kills our snow chances, but I'm all for mountain snow and low fire danger.

Picked up a nice 3" - not so bad considering I wasn't expecting much of anything - started way earlier than I thought. Now to see what the potential Wednesday storm will bring.
