Chanute, KS: 0.6"
Bartlesville, OK: 2.3"
OKC: Around 6" for everyone
Tulsa: 5.1 North-6.2 South"
Joplin: 3.7"
Monett, MO: 5.2"
Springfield: 4.2"
NW Arkansas area: 6-6.3"
Ft. Smith: Looks like 6.6" but might be 8.6"
Little Rock: 5.4-6.x"

I really trust the Euro model when it comes to any weather event. It always seems to be a very accurate model. I wish there was wider availability of the model data without having to subscribe to a service like WeatherBell.

I agree! I just have a friend who pulls the numbers for me, but he doesn't have a subscription either. Sometimes, Weatherbell's map doesn't quite match up to the numbers though, so I prefer getting the numbers.

I also like looking the SREF from the SPC. It gives an idea on the general path of storms, without giving exact snow amounts, so you can really see if it's shifting north or south with precip. Which honestly Euro has been very steady with it's total and the SREF has been pretty consistent with the track of the storm...so I feel pretty confident in the those Euro numbers.

I'm getting really excited!!! I'm not excited about being below zero next week!!! YUCK! I hope another storm rolls in next week to make it worth it, you know? Otherwise, it's boring and we are doing this :cold:

Front ahead of schedule could mean deeper cold air, which would mean more Snow as the EURO has been projecting.

Weather balloons were launched into the cold air mass this morning, so tonight we'll get a better look at how deep the cold air will be.

I'd take 12 inches of snow over .75 of Ice any day of the week.

NWS now forecasting a Level 5 Ice Storm on the Texas/Oklahoma border with the heaviest snows now located in East Central Oklahoma(along the I-40 corridor) instead of NE Oklahoma.

Thanks!

My 2nd cousin is a forecast meteorologist at Tulsa NWS. I ought to drop him a line on FB and see what his thoughts are on the totals moving around so much.

I just looked at the snow totals page on the NWS TSA...it's actually went up for Tulsa as well as most of eastern OK. Tulsa is going with 6 for the combined totals...aligns well with the Euro. Pretty much from Okfuskee county through Benton County in AR 6-8.

I think they're finally settling in on one solution. GFS, EURO and NAM are all parked in about the same area regarding snowfall.

Now time to wait, the good news (for us) is that it looks like with the exception of far south central/eastern OK we should be spared from any significant icing, and snow should be the primary form of precip (this is assuming the thursday impulse is not strong enough to produce significant precip, because thermal profiles will support freezing rain on thursday).

Crud... That's me.

...ICE STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON THURSDAY TO 6 PM CST
FRIDAY...
...WINTER STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TULSA HAS ISSUED AN ICE STORM
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON THURSDAY TO 6 PM CST
FRIDAY...

FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
* IN OKLAHOMA...SEQUOYAH. IN ARKANSAS...CRAWFORD.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...
* A CLASSIC SETUP FOR AN ICE STORM WILL BE TAKING SHAPE OVER THE
NEXT 24 TO 36 HOURS. AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT IS MAKING ITS WAY
ACROSS THE REGION TODAY AND WILL BE USHERING IN MUCH COLDER AIR
THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK. THIS COLD AIR WILL BE UNDERCUTTING
A STRONG SOUTHWESTERLY JET ALOFT...PRODUCING LIFT AND ONE OR
MORE BANDS OF MODERATE PRECIPITATION FROM SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA UP
INTO WEST CENTRAL ARKANSAS BEGINNING THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND
CONTINUING INTO FRIDAY. THIS JET WILL ALSO MAINTAIN A WARM LAYER
ALOFT WHICH WILL ALLOW FOR PRECIPITATION TO MAKE IT TO THE
GROUND AS LIQUID THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND NIGHT OVER THIS REGION
WHERE SURFACE TEMPERATURES WILL BE BELOW FREEZING. THE RESULT
WILL BE SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATION...WHICH WILL LIKELY CAUSE
MAJOR TRAVEL IMPACTS AND POWER DISRUPTIONS. THE PRECIPITATION
WILL EVENTUALLY CHANGE OVER TO SLEET AND SNOW BY EARLY FRIDAY
FROM NORTH TO SOUTH AS THE COLD AIR GETS DEEP ENOUGH BY THIS
TIME.

* A HALF INCH TO ISOLATED 1 INCH AMOUNTS OF ICE ACCUMULATION IS
EXPECTED FROM NOON THURSDAY TO 6 PM CST FRIDAY.

IMPACTS...
* TRAVEL WILL BECOME DANGEROUS OR IMPOSSIBLE EVEN ON TREATED
SURFACES. TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES WILL BE DOWNED AND
WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES ARE LIKELY.

DEFINITION...
* AN ICE STORM WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
* DELAY TRAVEL AND STAY HOME IF POSSIBLE UNTIL CONDITIONS IMPROVE.

* STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO...COMMERCIAL RADIO OR
TELEVISION FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS WEATHER
EVENT. ADDITIONAL WEATHER INFORMATION CAN ALSO BE FOUND AT:
WEATHER.GOV/TULSA.

I am sticking with what the NWS and WPC has just updated for Snow predictions of 2 in or greater...pretty nice map. You will have to zoom in, but I think that's pretty right on.
