...An Ocean Storm May Bring a Plowable Snow Saturday Afternoon
and Saturday Night...

.Intensifying low pressure will track across the Gulf of Maine
late Saturday and Saturday night. Snow will breakout across the
area during the afternoon and evening hours before tapering to
snow showers by Sunday morning. The heaviest snow is likely to
fall along the coast and Interstate 95 corridor...with amounts
tapering off quickly as you head west into the mountains and
Connecticut Valley. Some uncertainty remains on exact snow amounts
as slight changes in storm track will result in higher or lower
snow amounts across the area.

10:51 AM AST Friday 08 December 2017
Special weather statement in effect for:

Fredericton and Southern York County
Winter weather conditions expected this weekend across the Maritimes.

A low pressure system will approach the Maritimes from the southwest on Saturday. Snow ahead of this system is expected to begin over southern New Brunswick Saturday afternoon and spread to northern regions Saturday evening as the system tracks towards the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Current guidance suggests the potential for snowfall warning accumulations for parts of the province along with strong northeasterly winds which could lead to higher than normal water levels for exposed coastal regions of the province.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.weatheraspc.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NBStorm.

10:51 AM AST Friday 08 December 2017
Special weather statement in effect for:

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Winter weather conditions expected this weekend across the Maritimes.

A low pressure system will approach the Maritimes from the southwest on Saturday. Current guidance suggests the precipitation associated with the system will begin as rain along the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia Saturday morning and spread northward. For interior regions of the province a period of snow is likely Saturday afternoon before changing over to rain Saturday night. However, a change in the track of this system may result in more widespread snow. Strong northeasterly winds are also expected giving the potential for higher than normal water levels for exposed coastal regions of the province.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.weatheraspc.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NSStorm.

10:51 AM AST Friday 08 December 2017
Special weather statement in effect for:

Queens County P.E.I.
Winter weather conditions expected this weekend across the Maritimes.

A low pressure system will approach the Maritimes from the southwest on Saturday. Precipitation associated with this system is currently expected to begin as rain for the island Saturday afternoon, before changing over to snow Saturday night and then back to rain or snow on Sunday as the system passes through the Gulf of St. Lawrence. However, a change in the track of this system could affect the precipitation type and accumulations. Strong northeasterly winds may also develop on Sunday giving the potential for higher than normal water levels for exposed coastal regions of the province.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.weatheraspc.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #PEStorm.
