We're getting hail in Pensacola. Marble sized. Not exactly winter weather, but it's frozen.

Escambia County schools will be closed Tuesday due to inclement weather, icy roads
Pensacola News Journal
Escambia County School District schools and district offices will be closed Tuesday due to inclement weather.
The Escambia County Emergency Operations Center forecasts rain Monday during the day and evening, with ice adversely affecting road conditions throughout Tuesday.
In an abundance of caution, all schools, district offices and afterschool activities, including indoor and outdoor athletics, have been canceled for Tuesday, according to a news release issued by the district Monday afternoon.
District officials expect that normal operations will resume Wednesday.
"This decision has been made with the safety and security of students and staff in mind," said Superintendent Timothy Smith in a news release.

North and West Central and Central Florida under a tornado watch tonight as storm system moves in from the GOM. The trailing storm front is south of the massive winter system to the north.

It has snowed here in Hattiesburg all day today and the temp is still holding at 23 degrees. A pesky cloud deck has managed to stay in place and it has been able to generate snow showers all day. This has also kept us 12 degrees below our forecast high for the day. We’ve had snow showers from 5PM Monday to nearly 5PM Tuesday with even a light dusting at times. This is definitely not something you see here very often.

My sister sent a video of light snow in northern Baldwin this morning.

Speaking of snow, I managed to get a couple hours of flurries at various points throughout the day today. Did manage to get a little bit of accumulation on my chairs on the back patio, but overall, not much. Was certainly unexpected.

Re: Deep South/Southeast Winter 2020-21
We just had a legit thunderstorm at 34 degrees. A lot of lightning and very heavy rain...at 34 degrees. Our local meteorologist said that is something we may never see again in our lifetimes as it’s more rare to have an all-rain heavy thunderstorm at 34 degrees than to actually have thundersnow. The shortened version of the explanation is that you have to have air that is sufficiently warm enough throughout the column to cause all liquid while at the same time having air at the top that is colder than the air below to create the rising motion of a thunderstorm’s updraft. Pretty crazy stuff. I don’t recommend, however. 34 degrees and heavy thunderstorms is pure torture.
