Cold trend is good. Negative tilt is nice. Don’t like how much faster it is however. GFS is about to start so not long to wait.

It's faster but it's so amped, it produces the most qpf yet compared to it's prior runs on a broad scale. Some of that is just getting closer in time and seeing the tremendous lift/jet entrance.

Too close to the southeast ridge I’m pretty sure.

I like that the core of the cold appears to be shifting truly toward the plains north-south in the latest models with the system.

Not a fan of the faster ICON, but otherwise, it's great.

0z GFS looking pretty good! Didn’t like the fast trend on the ICON at all though.

Most of it in Texas is ice but yeah it's definitely significant. I'm still hoping for a bit slower trend though thats my big fear still that the precip clears out fast

I don't see a whole lot of difference in today's GFS runs. There are still swings(as you'd expect this far out) how this thing ejects. One thing for sure, today's overall trend is +qpf.

For those of you that don’t like the speed of the ICON, see NTWX’s post at the top of the page.

Not liking the further east placement there. Doesn't get going until almost 35.

Edit to add: But....it's a lot better than what we have been dealing with, so just a tad bit slower and we are golden.

0z GEFs is solid, might even be a little more impressive with snowfall totals from northern Central Texas through NTX and Eastern Oklahoma.

I assume this is not storm done since it hasn't moved northeast fully. I love the initiation in W TX. Nice.
