Moisture is no longer going to be an issue in February, it's the storm systems themselves. (And News 9 has a low of 5°F for next week, that system has very high potential)

I may have gotten an 1/4 to 1/2 inch of Sleet, which was unexpected.

Oh I'm definitely hyped about next week a bit... I never saw real potential this month(like beyond a flizzard basically) but this one feels different

Unfortunately it has pretty much stopped

Maybe next week though

From the AFD earlier

If the ECMWF is correct, an impactful winter
storm will take aim on the region next week. Stay tuned.

One thing about the ICON is it's usually on the dry/conservative side of things with precip (especially 7 days out) so to see it really cranking out those totals is interesting.

In other weather news...wow with the GFS trend up in the NE. Something has to give up there. Euro still holding on but wow talk about trending east.

Hopefully we can get a deeper cold. Nobody wants an ice storm like that. .25 inch with snow on top is cool with me, but not what the ICON shows.

Canadian also showing a terrible ice storm but more south of DFW

Lots of time and models to come but winter weather signals are becoming more common. Just need some trends colder aloft.

The GFS and Euro were also hinting at some ice IIRC earlier. I’d happily take a swath of 3-5 inches for all of NTX but I’m really hoping no ice. Thankfully it’s much too far in advance to really get caught up on ice vs snow—models struggle with thermal profiles even a day ahead—but I’m going to pray the ICON doesn’t verify. However, this pattern is reminding me a lot of February 2015 with event after potential event. So far models are highlighting at least 3 different snow events pretty consistently and I couldn’t be more excited for how quickly this winter shifted. At least, until the models take it away
