SA should get heavier precip tonight into tomorrow morning. Morning rush tomorrow could have big issues depending on temps.

Long-time lurker

What's it looking like for the Houston area? Seems like things keep inching closer and closer to us.

Houston will likely remain several degrees above freezing. Freeze line looks to reach College Station tonight. Just a cold rain expected in Houston. Thankfully.

Not a sleet pellet or drop of rain here in Bowie today. Looks like the worst of it yet will be here tomorrow/tomorrow night, from DFW north into OK.

Much obliged...was curious since things were trending colder than the forecast yesterday. We were supposed to hit 55, but never broke 49.

That 925-850 front is only maybe 10 miles east of yesterday, so no big push east yet. Well, it's just updated and did go further into Dallas now.

But, will see if it goes further.

Strange, that radar doesnt look anything like the returns on myRadar app - which has been perfect in picking up the sleet for me.

Agreed... for areas further south into the HC & SC TX the "main event" was definitely centered/modeled toward the overnight hours into Wednesday rush hour. NAM had a better handle with sleet today further north.

Was just coming to post that. Radar shows a long stretch of light sleet/freezing rain from DFW southwest all the way to Mexico and that is mostly missing from hi-res modeling.

Yep, our "big show" will be late tonight into tomorrow. Hoping we might be able to get some thundersleet reports from the more convective elements of the disturbance. Fingers crossed.

There is a possibility I could be under an Ice Storm Warning for tomorrow, NWS-Norman has my area up to at least .25 inch of Ice, which is just shy of an Ice Storm classification

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Watching the chasers drive around, you can definitely see some resemblance of the cobblestone ice back in 2013. Melted slush, refreezing to chunks especially on the bridges.

Not seeing any reports, but surely things are dicey from Brownwood down through Brady and out past Ozona towards the border with the combo of surface temps and radar returns.

If everyone is looking for the big one down south tomorrow, where does that leave counties north of DFW to the Red River?

I don’t see that happening, but nothing with the weather is certain until it’s happening. I just see the Winter Weather Advisory for your local area.

Kinda missed the worst of it. Was on the eastern edge yesterday. Western edge today. Better than nothing and glad to see sleet rather than ice.

It’s just that the people down South are looking for their big one. We still have the biggest chance for our area to come. Although I will say we had a heck of a morning here in DFW.

Are the Hi Res models still showing precip for tomorrow morning in Dallas?

Temp has dropped to 26.9. All of the melting on the roof that WAS occurring 2 hours ago has stopped. All icicles now.

Currently 23 at the house with a windchill that bounces around from single digits to low teens. We had a little sleet this morning but tomorrow is the day that worries me for up here. Hopefully schools and work will make the right decision and close even though it’s not suppose to hit until mid morning I’m hearing.
